How either of you can draw that conclusion from that interview is beyond me. :?

There will be a lot of egg on face after Gibbs retires, having played his entire career at Carlton.

I don't care if he goes back to South Australia as long as he leaves as a premiership player for Carlton.

If he wants to go home good on him. Juddy did and we are not complaining

Gibblett is a pretty loyal sort of kid. Loyal to his team mates & loyal to his family.

There may one day be a decision he has to make, but as he's wearing the number 4 that belonged to one of his
old man's good mates, I think I know which way the loyalty will swing.

BTW, when Judd was signed by the Blues, there was one kid who was so rapt at the fact he was going
to be playing with him, he said if it meant he had to take a pay cut to play with him he would, so it'll never be
about money IMO, just where his loyalties eventually lie (where ATM it's with Carlton).

His father has said on numerous occasions that he is very loyal and will be a 1 club player.

I have never heard his father mention that he will come back to SA.

Now please don't take this as an alarmist thread, I am merely putting this one out there because of what he said on the weekend, and because in my view every time I see him interviewed he seems to lack excitement.

On Gameday when questioned about when free agency should kick in (7 or 10 yrs) he said 7, and when the question was put to him re if he would ever want to be a Crow he said 'who knows'.

Again, I know it's just one interview, and believe me I am not trying to be alarmist, but I wouldn't throw this one out there unless I thought he looked really excited about being a Blue, and I just don't sense that, this year anyhow.

Is all OK with Bryce?

Maybe he is just a very laid back type, and if that's the case then I am wrong and we all have nothing to sweat about.

Either have I. I'll probably see him next week at the Footy and if I remember I'll ask him

I would have thought that he should be far more positive about his future with Carlton. To mumble and stumble about it on Gameday like he did was not really promising IMO.

Saying "Im happy at the moment" implies he is keeping his options open...... A comment like " Im very happy at the Carlton football club.", when asked about a move to Adelaide would have been better...

I find it quite amusing. Nick Reiwoldt had a similar attitude when questioned about the prospect of leaving StKilda to head home to the Coast. Whoever is Bryce's manager is giving him good advice and will ensure he gets as much money from the game he can whilst he plays it.
Oh by the way if you have not heard Reiwoldt signed with StKilda for 3 or 4 years I think.

If he leaves, he leaves. You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it doesn't ever cross his mind. Do we want him to lie and make a promise he may not be able to keep? He said he's happy here and that's good enough for me, if that changes and he wants to go back then good luck to him.

Not sure I'd expect a 20yo potential star to say more than he did. Seems to have a sound head on his shoulders and may realise you can't really forecast the future (unless you are a critic of CFC recruiting).
