I did not like the lack of commitment to Carlton by Bryce on Gameday (7) this morning. "you have a girlfriend in Adelaide - what is more likely: she moving to Melbourne or you moving back to Adeliade?" - "she moving - probably". Would you like to play in Adelaide? "Mum would love me to come back - we'll see what happens - no plans at the moment..."

Above is not completely verbatim but I did not like it - nothing about being a one team player etc.

yeah I was watching that and certainly didn't leave me feeling confident that he will be a one-team player for his career! He liked the possibility of a 7 year qualification criteria for free agency to make any possible move easier. Could allow him to get to Adelaide just as he's approaching his prime.

Maybe we could arrange a swap for Dangerfield before the 7 years is up! :donk:

I read the tone quite the opposite to you guys...and he said he was very happy.

Let's not create problems.

I'm not too concerned with player movement. I think it is something we'll have to get used to more and more in future. As long as we can get someone of equal value coming the other way. If a player goes as a free agent then that wont be the case but we can then equally attract a player to come to us. It all even out long term.

It is one of those hard questions to answer I suppose, but I have always had the feeling that there is a small, flickering desire Bryce wants to go home at some stage. I suspect that one day this will occur.

I think Judd will be captain for a very long time, and who knows who'll be playing for the team when he retires so it's a bit pointless to discuss our next captain when he won't be in the position for six or seven years.

Hmm, and it's not like he's not schooled in the art of the football cliche. Someone mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Bryce was homesick....

His public persona is very glib and bland, he's still a young boy, but seems very guarded in the media. He wouldn't have made those ambivalent statements by accident. :?

Anyone see Gibbs on AFL game day..................................................................................................................................

With free agency wants it to be 7 years for when a player can leave a club.

Asked if he will play in SA and he said he "doesn't know what might happen, mum would love it but im happy at the moment".

Was also asked if the girlfriend will move here or he move back to SA answered with "probably the girlfriend move here"

Sounds very much like our captain and honestly believe he will finish playing in South Australia after we've won a premiership.

(or maybe his contract is coming up)

Bloody oath. As long as he plays his part in our 17th premiership he can do what he likes but i can't see him leaving until we win one.

I think we should all prepare ourselves for more player movement to and from our club.

The old days of club/player loyalty are nearly gone. It's much more a job/business than a sport now.

Cheer for team more than the player.

..spot on, and it's only fair as well.. ..there's always the chance of 'go-home' factor with players from interstate.. ..win some, lose some.. ..if it did happen with the Gibbet, would think it'd be several years down the track..

Gibbs is a nice classy player, who might become a great player one day, but he displays little urgency, aggression, passion or personality on or off field. His awareness and football knowledge are superb but his kicking is highly overrated. Whether he stays or not he has a long way to go if he's to become a multiple All-Australian, which is the benchmark for a top-line player.

Yet two of the biggest names in football have lauded him as a champion in the making - Sheedy and Buckley.

Go figure.

I saw the interview as Gibbs not assuming too much on behalf of his girlfriend [to move or not to move] and trying not to break his mother's heart about coming home some day.

Easily in our top 5 midfielders.

Judd is easily our best.
Murphy well and truly second.

Gibbs is on par with Stevens and Simpson, if not already ahead of both.

Way youngest of the bunch and improving year by year.

I rate Gibbs highly and know that he will be a superstar.

Sadly, by the time he is a legitimate superstar...he will be a CROW!!!

His interview today on the morning footy show was VERY disappointing and the club should have a word to him.
