Hoping for some suspensions today for the Lions against the Roos.

We need to back it up on Saturday night. Defining game for us as this is a quality team at home.

I'm at the lions roos game now. as are most of our boys. Lions have been a bit cleaner than we were lastnight but I've seen nothing to suggest we can't beat them

Thornton. Bower. Jamison. Austin. Browne. Armfield. Joseph were there ( defensive unit ?? ) they were with matty lappin ( forward coach?? )

Bloody lions cost me a heap. Had them 20 - 39.

From what I saw of the game - Lions game plan for us will just be to bomb it in to the twin towers....
Where we may catch them is if they have to decide to play Bradshaw in D due to us being taller.....

Kreuz and Hammer will use last night's performance as a springboard to having it all over Clarke - Hale was way too loose on him today.

Thought the win pretty much went to expectation. We are that much better than WC at home, whilst at Subi we're a lot closer. Next week is the important one for me. We have not been consistent for 7 years. We struggle to win back to back games. When we begin to do this, then this will be the first sign that we are progressing. Till then its still status quo for now.

This is the classic 8 point game..... Win and we can square them and us up at 6 wins 5 losses........

As long as we stop Black and Power then Brown and Bradshaw can't kick goals.

I hope Jamo is right for this game, and I mean really right. I'd like him to smother Bradshaw.

But he seems out of form. Timing isn't right, and he's not pressing flesh like backmen do.

Is it form effecting his timing or is it the shoulder?

If he's not right I'd give Bower another chance to redeem.

Best case scenario is

Setanta = Brown (or Thornton has first shot)
Jamison = Bradshaw (or Bower given another shot)
Bower = third tall

Thornton can play the Waite role or forward. He's in pretty good nick atm,
Austin?

I reckon we have plenty of mobile talls in defense to cover for Waite back there, but we do need some run from HB and good delivery on the run/ Hopefully Scotland is back.

Armfield, Joseph and Browne are our taggers with pace. I don't think there's a need for more taggers, so I'd say Russell may be on thin ice.

Not feeling too confident about this one - however the Lions are suspect in defence and the ruck with Merrett, Charman and Leunberger all injured.
Anyway my changes would be:

Out
- Russell
- Robinson

In
- Grigg
- Scotland (if fit)

Grigg to take Russell's role of tagging a key midfielder.....and hopefully do some offensive stuff as well.
I really like Robinson however someone has to make way for Scotto......the likes of Houla & Fish played well against the Eagles so it is hard to justify leaving any one of them out.

Who the hell to play on Brown and Bradshaw? Well I'd start Bower on Brown and Jamo on Bradshaw.....if either don't work out then try Thornton........then Setanta and the last option would be Austin which would be tough on the kid as he is still growing and learning the AFL caper.

What youre in effect hping for is Brissy to meet us with half a team so we can beat them and it can be season defining???
Then the week after we pray for 10 StKilda knee recos... etc etc etc??

Why not hope we find a gameplan and allow that to be a season defining change for us???

I think it's time Russell executed one of his mythical jobs that he is given by the coaches at the Bullants this week. Grigg in.
That would probably be my only change, id be happy for Scotland to get some Ant time after a couple of weeks out. If he does come in, a swap with Armfield.

I see Hartlett & Grigg were amongst the best for the Bullants, albeit in an ordinary loss. Also J Bannister, not sure if that's Jordan or the other one. Would expect to see Grigg back for sure.

The word from the Bullants game today was that Yarran had to go to funeral otherwise would have still been in the ones.
Not sure they will pick him for the ones this week though. His fitness must be starting to drop as he hasnt been getting loads of game time.

What I was hoping for was exactly that and for a reason to keep you around a wee bit longer to post your usual observations and to see if you can get me some deals on anyone who sells really affordable Delonghi.
