A win is a win is a win. At times ugly but some better signs at times

pros
AJ another scalp
Austin stepping up. Exellent 1st half.
Hammer best Cox or drew even most times
Simmo better
Juddy for being Juddy
Browne solid
T-Bird very good as a defender
5-5
1 week closer to Warnock and Walks playing.

cons
No doubt we will still have to put up with all the 'yeah but' armchair experts which will bore me to death.

Regards Cazzesman

Loved the fact that it was at times ugly. I don't mind when we get a mini challenge, and settle after it. It's like last year, but we didn't let them get as close this time!

Pros:
Garlett - I liked how free he got
Bower - AGAIN!! Go Paul, Go!
Setanta - really looked the goods tonight.
The Judd and Fev Hug.... it is great to see how much those guys respect each other!

Yes all wins are good wins

Pros
Another game into the kids
The Hammer is going to be a player
Austin will also be a real asset
Big Santy gave us a lift and did well
AJ - tough little Tasmanian!
Brad Fisher
Chris Judd
Fev kicked 6
Cons
Our kicking for goal was not up to the required level
Robbo has some learning to do but that is also a pro.
Not much fluency.

Pros:
Austin looked like an AFL grade defender
Liked Browne's game
Hampson and Kreuzer against Cox
Simpson was back to his best
Murphy again showed himself as Judd's heir apparent
Fev kicked 6 against Glass without really excelling
Fisher and Houlihan did what they were supposed to do, ditto Garlett

Cons:
We struggle against the high long bomb to FF
We still looked rusty and took the wrong options

Love Judd
Love Murphy
Love Kreuzer
Love Austin

Was much happier tonight with Thornton.

AJ did a fantastic job on Kerr.

Fev got his kicking boots back. although they still need a little bit of a polish.

Pros
We won by 7 goals and didn't do anything remarkable. We wouldnt of been able to beat anyone by 7 goals 2-3 years ago unless someone did something extraordinary.
Fish - Looked good.
Judd = brilliant
Austin, Hammer, Bower, Joseph - Looked very good
Fev - Some good form, wish he would stop the diving. He is becoming the Didier Drogba of the AFL.

Cons
We played a side tanking
JR - What did/does he do? Apart from one obvious stuff up in the 3rd, nothing I can remember him doing. Who was the mysterious opponent of his?
We didnt bury them
I didn't see anything to suggest we could beat Brisbane

Austin's most impressive half/game to date. Showed what he's capable of in terms of reading the play when the ball is kicked in long. Also courageous to drop in front of JK.
Hampson's also very impressive. Still very raw but you can see what he is capable of. Nice setup in the forward pocket resulting in Fev's Daicos goal when Kreuzer wrestled Cox and then Hampson came over the top to hit it forward. Also taking possession from the ball up in the middle and running from the contest. I thought only Kreuz did that. Also pushing forward against Cox.
More attacking gameplan early. We tried to play on more from half back. Sometimes we'd turn it over but at least we were playing that way and not stagnant sideways rubbish.
Giving Kerr the Judd treatment all game - was good for us to really get stuck into an opposition player and make it hard for him.

Cons
Kickouts were still quite poor - chip it to the back pocket and then bomb it long down the line. Often West Coast had more numbers at the fall of the ball and were able to bring it back in.
Going missing in the third qtr - one particular coast to coast goal from the Eagles indicated we had really gone to sleep. Against a better team you'd get smashed in that 10-15 minute period if you aren't switched on however I guess a young team will still switch off.

Pros
Aaron Joseph, Aaron Joseph, Aaron Joseph!
Fev - slotted a few goals, so hopefully that will lift his confidence.
Bower - I was a bit worried about our Paul but he has been great these last few weeks and I'm rapted to be proven wrong.
Simpson - Great game from Simmo, no fuss, no hype, just got on with the job.
Fisher - I'm a Fish Fan, and while he's no bully boy forward, he can be effective as tonight showed.
Murphy - good game from Murph, too, a good development/maturation year from him so far.
Judd - just for being Judd, plus he looks to have overcome his kicking yips from last week, which extended early into this week, too.
Austin - I thought he was poor last week, but he showed plenty tonight.
Carlos - deserves a run for a few weeks in a row.

Cons
4.8 in second quarter, should have iced the game by half time.
Third quarter.
Need to work hard on mental toughness, from which 4 quarter consistency should grow.
Still need a bit more mongrel.

PROS :

We won. Not by a big enough margin, but we won.

Kreuzer and Hampson worked Cox over tonight. At times, Hammer’s palming was superb. Kreuzer is all class, and the scary part (for our opposition) is that both of them are probably five years away from their peak.

Aaron Joseph was a big contributor to this win. Courage and concentration personified. I thought he was super tonight.

Fev got his mojo back, and resumed doing what he does best. Very happy with his six goals, but it really should have been 9 or 10. (I'm also a bit concerned about his new habit of trying to take marks one-handed....)

Jeff Garlett showed plenty. Knows how to find the footy, and his decision-making and foot skills were excellent. If he can pack on some beef without losing pace or agility, he could be sensational.

Setanta O’hAilpin. Very pleased with the big bloke. I thought he showed a lot of maturity tonight, made very few errors and at last, looked like he belonged. Likewise Mark Austin.

Brad Fisher. Did all that was asked of him, and kicked straight.

CONS:

No Jarrad Waite.

I agree with Denis Cometti – our defence is brittle. But Bower, Jamo, Austin and company will be bigger and better next year, and even better in 2011.

The future is bright.

PROS:
Juddy- breakin lines left, right and centre
Fev back with a bag
Murph
Garlett, Aussie, AJ, Browne all improving with each match
Fish, Setants and Hoops contribute as they should
Kreuz and Hammer in ruck competed well
4pts= 5-5

CONS:
Lettin LeCras kick 6
Fisher's inability to kick >40M
Army and Robbo's kickin under pressure
Waite would of added another 20+ pts easy

Pros
Hammer - Getting better every game.
AJ - Yep. Obvious really. Like the cut of his jib. Or is it gib?
Hoops - I reckon we missed his polish.
Bower - Quickly becoming a very important player.
Judd - As always.
Some kickouts - tried going up the guts on the odd occasion.
WE WON!

Cons
Too much left to Judd. Still not enough support.
Most kickouts - back pocket, wing, turnover.
West Coast provided ordinary competition.
Scotch and coke at the Docklands costs over $9 a can.

Pros:
*Browne... good once again
*Hammers development continues.. while he makes some mistakes and sometimes taps it into the wrong position, there is SO much to work with..
*Juddy and Murph rebounding from average weeks by their standards last week with fantastic games tonight
*Another scalp for AJ.. WHile Kerr had a fair bit of it, he wasn't effective and that was coz AJ was on his hammer!
*Although his kicking was wayward at times, good to see fev kick a bag.
*Bowers good form continues.. His first half was outstanding.
*Austin doing some great things... his spoil and then a great mark a while later in the 3rd stand out for me. While Waite doing his knee will never be a good thing, getting this kid some game time will be a great plus for us in years to come!
*Fisher had a good first game back and gave us a target!
*Kennedy looking ordinary.. While I want him to be a good player (as I feel sorry for him coz of what happened with him leaving against his will) but can you imagine what this place will be like if\when he has a good game against us.. Juddys game against the Pies will be a distant memory to some ppl on here!!!!!!

Cons:
*I am not normally a Rusty basher.. but he offered NOTHING once again. His only good game of late was v. the dogs. What kinda message does it send to ppl like Anderson who are in the Bullants best week in, week out. Don't get me started on his kick around the corner when he had a man free in the 3rd qtr!!
*While my dear old friend Simonverbeek won't be happy about this, but Houla for me was VERY dissapointing. For a man who was dropped back to the twos and was made to show some work ethic and his desire to make it at this level, I felt that once he kicked his two goals (and had a very good first qtr), he thought "o well I have done enough for the night" and was rarely seen after that
*Robbo... I love the kids endevour, but I think they need to teach him when to use his enthusiasm and when to calm down...
*Didn't put them away... To get our season up and running I really think we need to put a side away.. would be great for the development.

On another note.. watching Fevs kicking tonight, when you watch the replay watch how much he turns his hips to the left when he kicks... he seems to be really pulling through the kick hard and hence missing on the left hand side.... he didn't move his hips as much last year...

Pros:
Good slog out. we did it comfortably but still a nice hit out.
Judd - he just looks good. and so does his missus.
Murphy...nice game
Kreuze.....good experience running around with coxy
Fev,,,,hope he gets some confidence back
AJ - tearing a new one next week
JR: ppl must be blind, they say what about the stray pass, but i say what about the chase and tackle he did to make up for it. great committmentdidnt sook or whinge.

Eddie and Garlett always dangerous
Fish, Hoops, Setant all played their fiddle. hammer, bower, browne etc all had their moments
Mitch: need some hard nuts in the side. not upset with the report. love his intensity

Cons:
Letting LEcras kick 6. he is a gun, but still
Mitch report :P

A few Pros for me including My Smurph  How good was he?
Juddy
Hammer
Austin
Simmo
Bower
AJ
Krooz
Fevalenko

Cons
Shizenhausen umpiring tonight. Would not blow the whistle when a player was holding the ball or dropping the ball. They just let the game go and were not paying the free kicks. Peed me off like you have no idea.
The West Coast pig in the Medallion area in front of Ratts coaching box. Low mouth, boorish, uncouth pig.

Pros:

- Judd, Murphy, Kreuzer usual susepcts again
- Joseph, loved his tackling, looks like we have a gem there
- Garlett, played a good game, not scared to go into contests despite his size, more effective than Betts tonight
- Fev back into some form, albeit against the Eagles, but did take some good contested marks against one of the better full backs.
- Austin and Browne
- Would have been 70 pts up at half time if we kicked straight
- Bower

Cons:

- Armfield might need a game in the 2s, has to work on his disposal
- Problems still visible with decision making and disposal everywhere
- Kick ins again were poor at times
- Another underwhelming display despite the win
- 3rd quarter where we let the eagles back in slightly
- Umpiring shocking once again

Pros- I have a 100% win/ loss record this year to the games I've attended. Including the pre season Nab matches every game I have attended have been all the Carltons wins!

Cons- Unless someone wants to shout me a flight to Brisbane we probably won't win next week lol
