After the tripe we served up on Saturday I wouldn't even feel confident of competing against the dees or tigers!
Not sure why anyone feels confident this week

Good move.. now rest Jamo and play Setanta at FB ..
Anyone can see Jamo is not 100%.... and he useless with one shoulder and a chance to worsen it.

He only likes the Fab 4 when playing his old team.

Hirdy loved us last night on the couch... must have been that pink shirt he was wearing...

Anyone else remember our kickout tactic in every last quarter circa 1990.

Mil Hanna (?) kicks the ball as far as he can (a long way) straight down the centre corridor (not a term used at the time); Justin Madden punches/flicks the ball over the back of the pack; Craig Bradley starts running from the defensive 50 (which didn't exist) as FB makes contact.

As Bradley was the fittest player in the game, no-one could go with him.

Result: Bradley runs into forward line under no pressure and Sticks gets to mark one out.

Surely, once a week or so, this would be worth a try.

It's gotta be better than the crap method we are currently employing.

Too risky for Ratts and there arent a heap of possessions in it...
He likes a heap of touches from the boys.

Said we over corrected our roll back that was no existant against freo.

Waite is getting his knee looked at now but it sounds like season.

Sticks up for Fev. Leaves his house at night and it gets reported as big night.

Other stuff.

- resigned to losing JW for the year, despite what arthroscope tells us today @ 2pm.
- JW would be in top 3 players this year and will be a big loss.

- thought back 6 did ok, but ball came out too slowly and without any risk.
- on first qtr debacle...over-corrected the roll-down, Ratts took full responsibility.
- worst half in his time as coach. Need to beat team we're expected to beat.
- balancing act as a team. 7 kids in team who've played 15 games or less...no excuse, but it's a transition.
- Fev had 7 shots at goal...cops flack, but thought he beat Rutten in one-on-ones
- publicity surrounding Fev happens...unfortunate..he's fine and fit....heel is good, glute is good.
- Fisher and O'hAilpin probably come into the team Fri night
- Setanta provides flexibility and will be in side for the next 2-3 weeks.
- won't let Judd / Kerr matchup happen

Our kickout atm is too try to pinpoint a kick to a bloke 30m out who is surrounded by 3-4 opposition players. If it comes off we have a couple of blokes free and running for the next kick. When it fails, the ball comes flying back through the goals...

Historically, Brad actually plays well against West Coast. (that's me saying that - not Ratts)

Hmmm. You'd think with a comment like that he'd put him in every week. We sure could have used him when Waite went down.

Got better ideas? Wiggins and Waite out - Cloke Walker Hartlett not fwd options currently.

Garlett ineffective
Edwards -Ants 2nds
Houlihan - fwd pressure? no

OK you can bring in Anderson and Put Austin or Thornton forward, but they won't scare WCE running backs with pace.

The fact is there aren't perfect options that will tick all the boxes. Our much vaunted list can't cover a few injuries.

Ratts said Fev played too high last week - he'll be more FF this week.

Come up with some better ideas than Fish and Setanta!

.. just following the 4th chicken line on bigger bodies... does Brad have a big enough body or will he bring the average body weight down and cause us to lose?

Look, personally i dont reckon Brad fits what were trying to do right now.
In effect he can take a grab but he is slow and akin to a turtle on his back when he loses his feet in contests.
Id much rather get the guy from the outer in Hartlett in the side.
Better kick and needs to play so we can see what he is capable of doing if anything.

Fish will be ok if he can sneak round the back and take a mark.. and from that point he will be a 50/50.... but he doesnt have presence and he doesnt have defensive capabilities .
