That is the worse game of football you will ever see Bryce Gibbs play. It was like he was a different player.

Armfield got found out but battled hard.

Clueless first half. Presumably coaching staff has to share responsability.

Not a great start to my Memorial Day weekend!

Thanks to the staff at the Australian Bar on 38th for staying open!

:banghead: :donk:

The time has come for a few home truths.....What we served up today in the 1st half was embarrassing and not acceptable.....

It appeared to me that Ratten did not have faith in his team....The game plan is crap and there was no structure at all....Neil Craig would have been licking his lips with Fev playing up the ground and no forward structure to combat....We started the game in defensive mode and again did not back our boys to beat their opposition....

Ratten needs to make some hard decisions about some of the players who played today.....Again Wiggins gets a game (Kernahans Lovechild) without earning it.....Russell looks out of his depth but he appears to always get a game....

Ratten you are in way over your head......We can make all the excuses we like the facts are that we are no way near good enough to play finals that's reality not spin like Ratten likes to put on things....

Robert Walls keeps saying our bottom 6 are no good......well that may extend to our bottom 10 as to much is left to too few and I don't want to hear that all will be ok after we beat West Coast next week....That's crap and we have a long way to go and the questions about Ratten will continue to be asked if we keep serving up the crap we did today....

Is that worse than being the Billy-Ray Cyrus of threads?

What a dreadful effort.

Dennis Armfield should never play AFL football again. Worthless.

Steven Browne looks scared and makes a mistake every time he gets near the ball.

Mitch Robinson was outclassed today.

Simon Wiggins = Ordinary.

Michael Jamison = Overrated. What has he ever done to be so well regarded?

Bryce Gibbs set the tone with his kick-in at the start.

How much do we miss Scotland, Waite and WALKER?

POSITIVES

Paul Bower arguably our best defender now.

Shaun Hampson going to be good. Matthew Kreuzer excellent again.

Nick Stevens played very well.

Holdover from previous thread;

Say whatever you like about the blues good or bad, I certainly do, but what really irks me in these threads is people selfishly talking about their footy tipping like as if that's the most important thing.

I want to hear ways we can improve the club not whether an individual has good or bad luck with their tipping - talk about impertinent!

Don't encourage him KK.

Well, that wasn't much fun was it? But on the up side, it has taken us this far into the season to play such a crap game.

Forget September
Use the rest of this season as a pre-pre season comp for 2010. Maybe we might even be treated to a semblance of a gameplan and some structures. We have gone backwards. Apart from Murphy, Bower and Kruezer (Betts as well), how many players have improved since last year? Ridicule, chastise or admonish my comments if you must. I'll care about the expected retorts that will come my way about as much as the team cared about winning in the first half today. This is not an over reaction. I, along with a few others have been having concerns ever since the Ess game. Luckily, I have been putting my money where my mouth is and backing against Carl most of the year. How the flower we have been favourites for most of the year is astonishing. Thanks Sportsbet.
PS. I desperately want Ratts to be our next premiership coach. I'm just not confident he will be.
PSS. Remember, we've also had a reasonable run with injuries until today.
Pencil in no more than 6 more wins for the season.
WE ARE CARLTON. WE ARE BOTTOM 8 IN '09

mebbe we need to take the Paul Keating approach and say that this was the crap game we had to have...

we had a huge win against the pies last week, and mebbe we got a little ahead of ourselves.

if i were ratts, i'd make the players watch this game every day for the next week so that they come out breathing fire next week, or i'd get jack elliot into the rooms for a spray

only listened to the game on the radio which was frustrating enuff, i feel sorry for those of you that watched it.

next week will be better

am pleased to hear that Bower, AJ did well, but we really gotta look at our plan for getting the ball out the backline

and Jars, love the venting!!!

bryce gibbs.... were to start? has he had a good game since brisbane in round 2? flower me. i cant think of a positive contribution tonight from bryce. horrible terrible [edit]

my favourite part of every week here, is when we are told that Russell is in the side because he 'does jobs' ROFL. The only job Russell is doing is being a liability, d-u-d.

thornton to the Forwardline - mastersroke Ratts :sly:

shit coaching. shit structure. shit intensity.[edit]

I didn't mind that too much today, could've been a train wreck.

We have Yarran, Joseph, Jamison, Hampson, Kreuzer, Armfield, Browne, Austin and Robinson, none of whom have played more than 30 games.

That's 9 players.

Bower has 33. Hadley, Russell, Gibbs and Murphy have little over 50 games.

Simpson and Betts are approaching 100 games.

Judd goes from his best game for Carlton to his worst.

That leaves Waite, gone early, Wiggins, Fevola, Stevens and Thornton.

Judd, Wiggins, Fevola, Stevens and Thornton...Simpson and Betts.

Maybe we can improve our club finances by all backing against Car when theyre favourites and presenting the club with it's regular fortnightly cheque

They should leave Russell in Adelaide !!! His game on knights was "ordinary at best".

The following players will not play in a premiership at Carlton in their lifetime !!!

Jordan Russell
Simon Wiggins
Steven Browne
Richard Hadley
Denis Armfield

Stamp their papers now and make sure they never put the Navy Blue Gurnsey on Again !!!!!!!!

Time to give the next lot of young players on the list a go.
This time tomorrow night we will be out of the 8 !!!!!!!!!

Was only able to hear the game on the radio - and even the mental picture is going to leave scars for a very long time.

We need to look at how we travel - whatever we do don;t do it again - that's 3 interstate games where the game's been gone by the end of the 1st.
