Here's what he said..........

- Was asked were he would rate Juddy amongst the champs he played with, he had him at three and ranked SOS number at 1 and sticks at 2.

- Dwayne Russell Said we are not flying to which Ratts responded with we're not.

- Said its important for the growth of our team that the kids keep getting a game.

- Said he wanted to play Yarran due to his ability to hit the scoreboard

- Spoke of Austin and said he really deserved a game

- Hampson has raw talent

- Armfield and Joseph are hard workers and there speed is really important to us

- The importance of rolling down and assistant the back half is important but its getting the balance right. Some of the back half guys are doing as much running as the midfielders, so fitness is important

- Was asked about handling of fev. Praised his performance against the hawks and said he was outstanding. The Freo game he'd be the first to put his hand up and say that wasn't his best. On the weekend Fev played a role for the team which saw him take there best defender away from the contest and credited him for sacrificing his game

- Said that Fev understands that if he isn't kicking every week that along as the team is performing well he is happy with that scenario. They are still selling the idea to him that he cant always be the go to man

- Buckley rates Kade SImpson. Ratts agreed of course, said that he can play multiple positions and his run and carry is very important plus not having many left footers in our team that he can change angles being a left footer and when he hits the scoreboard he's even better.

- Robbie Warnock will start running this week and will be in contention in 4 weeks time. He has a massive engine and runs a 15 plus beep test

Dwayne Russell said before the boys got in a circle to sing the song Fev yelled out lets sing it as loud as we can so the collingwood team can hear it.

Onya Melvey!

All sounded spot on. Only concern was the above comment. Surely he doesn't need to be sold on his role?

Why not? He's been the go to man probably as long as he's played footy. Has always been judged on the number of goals he kicks.

Thanks Melvey.

Good to hear that he realises we're not flying despite the margin. Wins grow confidence though so hopefully that in itself will help.

Great summation Melvey...heard it myself and that was spot on. The Pies weren't happy that we didn't let their VFL team use the main change rooms when they played at Visy Park against Box Hill last Sunday...instead, we put the umpires in there! Some of the boys knew this during the week...although not sure you can hear the change room next door at the MCG! Fev may have forgot there's two concrete walls and a corridor between change rooms.

Reading that, and then realising I had misread it gave me an idea.

Why not take a bus to Adelaide? It's a 10 hour trip, great bonding exercise, and Ratts can talk tactics with the entire team listening in a more relaxed fashion.

Obviously it's a bit late now, but maybe an idea for a future trip to there or Sydney.

Good one melvey.

In the end Fevola should be told not sold, like other players, if he doesn't buy the coach's instructions. Does he think he's better than everyone else? How does he get to decline the coach's instructions (if the reports are true) on the field?

NO, NOT THE BUS!!!

That is the worst trip ever. Did it a couple of times for the GP. Never again! The Overland is a good trip. Hire an entire carraige perhaps!

the bit that suprised me (in a pleasant way) was his comments that SOS was the best player he has played with
and interesting in that he rates Judd the best midfielder (ahead of williams, bradley, brown etc)
sounds like he rates the kpp and what they do highly

did he elaborate on why SOS?

if not - anyone care to share their opinion.

For mine - Williams still the best I have seen; in that he was the complete footballer and you could not ask anything more of him.

SOS - by far the most courageous player I ever seen play for the blues and a true champion. Why I do not rate him the best is that his kicking skills let him down sometimes.

I wish you both the best of luck in convincing Justin Cordy that an overnight trip in a box is better than a 45min flight.... In fact, if the team is on the train to Adelaide, i'll bet my left nut that Judd flies Pratt Air

As for Fev, the day he doesn't want the ball is the day he's of no use to CFC.

Whats up Melvey youve actually been making some good posts lately.

4 weeks for Warnock? Woohoo! Hopefully he can get a game before the mid season break and then fire up for the crucial 2nd half of the season
