I reckon that the less nominations a side gets the more you hear that it doesn't mean much. It doesn't mean much for the individual but it should give you an otherall idea on how a list is going.

Yeah, the nomination is an indication of quality.

that Jaxson Barham is a champ in the making.... :sly: :screwy:

That's not my problem. If there is a problem then it's in the nomination system rather than with the concept itself however there is room to award consistency late in the season.

This whole award is one big joke, Geary didnt even get in the best for St Kilda in the herald sun, got a ranking of 75. Robinson got in the best and ranking of 100. Its a farce, that is 2 rounds he should have got the nomination.

You have to be kidding - who are those idiots who choose the nominations?

Geary has been pretty good this year. He wasn't that great on the weekend - so clearly the posts have moved in relation to criteria. I thought it went on best eligible youngster of the Round? Perhaps given he probably just missed out the week Rich and Ziebell got their nomination - they felt it necessary to award it retrospectively. If that's the case - Robbo's should be just around the corner.

Typical AFL - they don't care about their own rules. Why don't they announce who is the rising star now spare us the wait..... :screwy:

They just change the criteria as they go, to justify the nominations.

Got some late junktime points but i agree he might be unlucky - 3 world-class efforts and a handy game.

There was an interesting article earlier in the year (can't remember which paper) which stated that AFL Clubs are of the belief that players who are nominated are almost always products of the AIS system. Not saying whether or not it is true, but I would make the point that Robbo is not an AIS graduate, and so if the conspiracy theory is right then Robbo may struggle for a little while yet.

And for what it is worth, Geary has been very, very good in a good side.

Mick Malthouse thought they could still win the game with 5 minutes to go. Not much junktime in his eyes.

I couldn't believe nobody (Juddy aside) flew the flag when a first year player got belted behind the ears by that sniper Maxwell.
Albeit it was never going to harm his looks.

I think the theme for nominations this year are the 'skirts'.

Mitch Robinson for rising star.

Made it after he got screwed over after Round 2.
