Wait until Warnock gets on the park.

Denis Commeti said yesterday once Robbie gets fit and in the team, and if Hammer steps up, then Kruez could be used by Ratts in different ways, that would obviously give us an edge.

Have said this all along, Warnock is the key. Our structure will change once he gets into the team.

Will Warnock will make us take the game on through the corridor? :hitcomputer:

Yeah he'll be a great addition and much needed help for Kreuz and Hammer and the overall structure, no doubt.

probably not, but while it is here, it needs to be said that if dennis said it, it must be regarded as undisputable fact

No, it should be in the 'Welcome Dennis Commetti to our recruiting team' thread.

That could be the basis for a good discussion.

Listed as another 3-5 away, so you can envisage him being in the mix for the Saints match.

You're the moderator, you should know these thing

Really looking forward to seeing Warnock getting on the park. Not sure what kind of expectations I should put on him.

That's easy. 42 hitouts with a hitout to advantage percentage bordering on 100%. Dean Cox like stats around the ground and pinch hit 3-4 goals a game.

Seriously the only expectation i have is that he's 206cm.

Good post VB.

I tend to agree, the inclusion of Warnock will help with our structure. Along with Warnock add Walker, Johnson and Grigg and these guys will significantly change the structure of the team.

Does it deserve it's own thread?

I don't know, others can judge that.

Melvey seems to like the original post.

Look, I just think if Hammer can mature, and if Warnock can get fit, it will mean a helluva lot to the structure of the team.

I see Warnock, and to a lesser extent Hammer (or Jacobs), as arguably the key pieces to the jigsaw.

I think it's hugely important, feels like we are (hopefully) heading towards that direction.

People forget that Robbie has not had a proper Pre Season so even if his injury is good to go in 3-5, his fitness base would be no where near what is required for senior AFL football.. At best I see him being available for the last 3-4 games of the season (and hopefully the finals)...

Great thread VB

Yes it's apropriate to have this thread because people need reminding that we have made an investment to give us an edge in the ruck.

The thread relates not just to Warnock, but what effect the inclusion of Warnock will have to the team, in particular Hammer, Kreuzer and Jacobs...and of course Cloke whose contract expires end 2009 (?).

This inclusion will give us some serious height with pace around the ground and where we need it most at critical points in a game...to control and create momentum.

I honestly can see the athletic Kreuzer and Hammer as KP's, not suggesting they both should be, but in a couple of years (2011) they will be difficult match ups and stars of the game.

Finals will do me just fine mate.

Re fitness, you may be right, but I do recall hearing the club say a little while back that Robbie is an exceptional athlete and so he will pick up the fitness very quickly compared to most other ruckmen.

I hope with this hype, he delivers.

At the moment (off the field) he looks like Lindsay Smith. Hopefully he plays 1000 times better than him though.

I don't care if he doesn't dominate the ruck, as long as he contributes around the ground.

The single biggest thing that warnock will bring is structure. He will allow us to move kruise forward and then have 2 strong marking forwards in Fev & Kruise. When Cloke and wiggo were in decent form at the start of the season we played quicker and more times through the middle because more often than not someone up forward would mark the ball. Since their form dropped off the structure had to change so that if they didn't mark (which they didn't) then we wouldn't get caught on the rebound. This has made us slower than we can play, but has kept us competetive.

Interesting to see Ratten yesterday said that he rated Kernahan and Silvagni ahead of Judd as the best CFC players of his time.

Reason was they were bookends, so he is clearly putting a lot of emphasis on the importance of KPPs.

Just reinforces the point of this thread, that Warnock, Hampson, Kruezer will be so important to us moving forwards.
