The redevelopment would be paid by the AFL and a rough estimate is around the 30 million mark to get it up to standard including building a new grandstand
I heard Greg Swan on 3AW last Thursday say that not a lot of money would need to be spent to make Visy Park a football playing venue immediately. The ground could currently accomodate 24,000. Must say I have not heard this $30 million dollar figure before.
I thought I heard $10m-$15m would do to renovate toilets, bring (especially) Gardiner up to safety standards, replace seats, maybe improve the surface (which is a little off its best) and other facilities such as changerooms, and catering installations, maybe even a scoreboard!!! I hear the VFL park one is available
Actually, without the social club, where will match day functions and hospitality be? At the Princes Park Motel?
