Pro's

Lots and lots of positives for me..

Aussie and Waitey switching between forward and defence

Hammer and Kreuz showing up Wood

Added spark with Mitch back in

Captain magnificent is awesome ..Hads Gibba & Murph with great support

Lots of hungry young blues across the park.

Cons

Yeah, they've got no idea about linking up through the corridor

That TC matchday thread is pathetic.

We won
Robinson is a gem
Scotlands run back with the flight of the ball- very courageous and came back on too
Hammer showing signs
Judd is a freak
Simmo back to some form

CONS

worst umpired game i have seen for a very long time
we were still average - lack structure and an evident game plan

Ok here is what i think.

Pro's

Hammer is coming along, he is much more agile than Jacobs i personally think he is a much better prospect.

Kruezer was good again.

Judd is brilliant

Scotland showed some serious courage and i hope his knockers can shut the hell up now.

JR was very good again today (but im sure people will want to drop him)

Joseph battled well against Davis

Cons

Yarren is lazy

i personally dont rate Browne

should have won by more

Pros:
Our pressure at the man was good.
Any win against the filth is great.
Joseph...love his toughness.

Cons:
They are crap so hard to gauge.
Yarrans shot at goal in the last quarter was very Wiggins like... :yikes:

Let them drag us down to their level for long periods
Use the corridor

Pros:
- Judd, Murph, GIBBS, Kreuz building a lethal quartet
- Waite looking more and more dangerous as a forward
- Fev bringing players into the game when he couldn't get into it himself
- Scotland...respect
- Robbo, an absolute beast
- Sounded like we played with more purpose and direction (at times)
- Austin seems more at home in the big leagues. Vital that he cements a spot
- Hampson's best game (although admittedly against no opposition)

Cons:
- Yarran seems that he'll need some time
- Didn't bury them as we should've
- Stuffing around with the ball, gathering touches instead of really putting the hurt on them. Still seem to be unsure what type of gameplan we want to use
- We probably would've been beaten by a full-strength side
- The shit umpiring didn't help (they got about 3-4 from shit frees from what I heard)
- Nick Maxwell left the ground without a single bruise

Pros
- Robbo
- Hammer improving. Hopefully his mark and goal at the start of the 3rd qtr is a sign of things to come.
- Austin solid in defence.....and Waite up forward
- Joseph's hard tag on Davis
- won by 51pts with Fev not kicking a goal

Cons
- Collingwood were so bad it is hard to gauge our performance.
- If it weren't for Judd we would have really struggled.

Pros - We won by 50+

Cons - It should have been 100+

But a win is a win.

Most of the bigger names will get a mention, for better or worse, so I just want to single out Aaron Joseph. His year so far has been sensational. He's your archetypal team player, a la Dean Rice.

We didn't try and trade for Cameron Wood. What a spud.
Austin and Hammer both showed the most I've seen from them.
Smashed a side by 50 points with Fev kicking none.
Waite in AA form.

Con:
I'm not sold on Yarran.

Pros:

We won & we beat Collingwood
Intensity, we were up early
Judd
Waite as an attacking option - Genuine matchwinner that needs to be used as one.
Browne - Finally in defence in second half.
Armfield good on Lockyer
AJ good on Davis although would like to see him in midfield - One of the few to show speed and break the lines.
Better with Cloke & Wiggins out of the side
Robbo and Scotlands efforts
Playing and getting more game time into the kids and getting rid of the deadwood.

Cons

Pathetic Game
Team Structure
Side and players are never allowed to settle
We are a very slow side
Kicking
Too tall in defence
Rotations (I hate them and a lot don't make sense)
Russell - watch him closely and he doesn't take the first option and gets teammates into trouble (nice mark though)
Fitness levels of Fevola & Yarran
Umpiring - close to the worst I have seen this year

Just arrived from the game - haven't seen the gameday thread but can imagine the frustration despite the scoreline

A competent performance but honestly was unimpressed

Pros

Judd superb again brownlow chance if we'd snuck a couple more wins- overhead mark  So he can play forward I was wr..wro..

-Hammer - is fast, gives flexibility, fights for the footy - forget the fumbles he's the future fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better than Cloke

-Thornton - To be fair he's been in great form all year - I have to accept that he's good at what he does and we need to find run from elsewhere

-Gibbs - improved game - had more impact today

-Murph and Kreuzer - very good again

- Waite - dynamic

-Robbo - was the spark early with awesome efforts- a bit too cocky at times but backs himself which we need

-A solid win with a lot of young players, some of whom were ordinary but need to get games into them
-I don't think Austin was great but important structurally- released Waite
-We didn't run so plenty of legs for next weeks trip :banghead:

CONS

Game style - very unimpressive.
Should have won by more against depleted opposition
Yarran - disappointing. Lacks mental toughness, confidence and urgency. Slack
No run from backline - Joseph and Army weren't in the game - need them carrying the ball
Stevens - one lovely left foot goal and.......?
Hadley - He must be struggling if I'm pining for Bentick  :banghead:
Simpson - played a good game all up but he refused to run with the ball

-Coach sent a clear message to Fev through his game plan of playing him as a decoy forward up the ground. We have other options
- Mitch Robinson
- Heath Scotland for trying to make every possession count
- 3 young Talls (Kreuzer, Hampson & Austin marked and goaled

Con.
- We will never be a force if we are coached to play round the flanks
-We will never be a force when so called runners are coached to chip/handball sideways russel, stevens, armfield
- Russel- surely ability over endeavour has to factor into team selection
-Why wasn't Waite permanent Center Half Forward. Kreuzer looks a natural for that position if Waite isn't there. Our runners need to look up and know that someone is permanently presenting there if we are to straighten up and develop more run and carry through the middle.
- Very unconivincing skill execution against a VFL side

THEY call JR Russell_teammates_into trouble or Number two...

Love Browne for smashing into a few Magpies at one hundred miles an hour.

Browne hit a teammate off one step with a good pass.

Keep him in the side ahead of Houlihan after he hit the target twice. :smoking:

Pro:
1. The forward looks better and less predictable without Cloke

Cons:
1. Laconic style of play. If we were playing any other team today they would have kicked away in the second quarter
2. Lack of run. Breaking the lines to create space.
3. Stationary players hand balling off to other stationary players

RUN. RUN and RUN FFS!

Still can't work out our style of play

Pros:

- Steven Browne, I salute you. He takes the ball in the guts during the third term, looks up, and has Fev leading to the left, defender breathing down his neck, no gimme. Looks right, and sees Murph leading backwards into space well clear of his man and alot closer to goal. Would you believe it, he sends a beautifully weighted kick to Murph! Mark, set shot, goal. Smart player. Hope the MC shows this to all of the kids next week - there is another way! If it had been a senior player with that option, well.....

Pros
Any win over the pies is a good win although it was not a great standard at times.
Fev might not have kicked any goals, but kept chasing and made a contest. We won by 50 (good sign with Multiple kickers).
Kruez and Murphy looked awesome today. Judd usual amazing self.
Aaron Joseph!

Cons
Standard of the game (skills for both shocking at times).
Maybe shoulda won by a few more.
While its good seeing Yarran play, maybe not quite the engine just yet.

Juddy great game Freak!!!, AJ, Army, Austin and Bower really starting to settle in.
Yarran needs time but once he feels he belongs he will be "special"
Kreuzer is such a great young player.
I much prefer Waite and Hammer forward to Cloke and Wiggins.
Eddie really took his chances in a limited display excatly what young Yarran needs to learn (and will).
Scotto and Robbo running back with the flight, Robbo straight after the hit from Captain Useless.

Cons : Well I just don't like to look at Collingwood supporters -let alone share a train with them.
Should have been 100 points par score today.
