There are peoples posts on here and BF that i do not call supportive at all to certain of our own players and i get sick of it especially when mountains are made out of molehills, especially the rediculous posts calling for Fevola to be dropped traded etc.....

I reckon there'd be quite a few AFL players, maybe even the odd one from Carlton, who get up to any number of unspeakable things in their spare time. Things much worse than binge drinking on a Saturday night.

I do not support our players I support Carlton. I now love Judd, saw how good he was for west coast but never loved him - mind you I always loved the idea of having him. There are some players you love because they embody a club - Gary Crane, Kenny Hunter, Bruce Doull, Jezza etc. But most players are simply part of the club and when they are gone the club is still what you support.

Well said Danny. The club is greater than any individual. You do something to tranish the club in any way, and your presence there deserves to be questioned. No-one can deny that if Fev were to be shown the door, it would send a BIG statement to the younger playing group. Whether or not they would react positively or negatively, depends on how it would be handled and the fortitude of those involved. The rumours involving certain of our young stars being involved is what stings the most.

Also, what happened to Swanny's "Fev's on his last chance" ultimatum?

That only applies the day Swanny can't keep it out of the media.

I wouldn't like to be told not to go out and get pissed with my mates........

I also wouldn't want to be viewed as a complete flower if I did go out and nothing even remotely stupid happened.....Id say those doing the pointing were the flowers.

That's all I'm saying...

Would it be different if you were being paid $100,000s each year to be a professional athlete in peak physical condition at all times, and in many ways the face of an entire organisation? The fact that a sub-par performance was put in after these events doesn't help either, and wouldn't be tolerated in any workplace.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not waving a pitchfork calling for blood, but I see something really wrong with not seeing the harm this sort of thing can do, both at supporter and club level. The young guys see how Fev gets babied when he breaks team rules, that shit snowballs. As always, let's look at Geelong as an example, and Stevie J in particular.

its a once off....

then it happens again

and a third time

and a culture begins.

I'm not saying they are bad people for doing it, they are human....given all that is going at at professional sporting clubs I don't think a curfew after games is going too far.

So as I alluded to in my earlier post, what is being done about it? Where’s the leadership and discipline?

Regardless of personal issues, the fact that we have the opportunity for some on field success, after being horrible for so long, and this is happening beggars belief imho. Especially considering our underperformance so far this season.

I’ve got the awful feeling in my stomach that things are starting to unravel. Hopefully I’m overreacting and the club and it’s ‘leaders’ are addressing this appropriately. Especially as we’ve publicly dedicated this season to Mr Pratt…

As a long time supporter of Fev, particularly when others are calling for his head, if what is alledged is true then I am very dissappointed with him and he needs to be pulled aside and spoken to. Lets hope he turns up Sunday with a clear head and focus's on footy, even if it just to escape from his personal issues.

I'm sure this has happened plenty of times. What many are wondering is when the "good speaking to"s stop and spankings are delivered.

A good rule of thumb is 'everything in moderation'. Not so sure there was anything 'moderate' about the behaviour of some involved.

If our captain saw fit to leave this little get-together at an earlier, civilised hour, it's a fair bet that it was the sensible and 'correct' thing to do, and it's a shame that a few more of our younger blokes didn't follow his lead.

Some of our more 'mature' players are sadly never going to change now, and we must simply accept their bad with their good, or move them on - it's too late to shape them now. I would hope the club would do everything in its power to greatly minimise the influence these blokes have on the next group of leaders at our club, however.

Indeed, no crimes were permitted here, but such undisciplined binging surely isn't indicative of a playing group completely intent on making all the sacrifices necessary to achieve success. Sure, have a few beers, but stop there perhaps - no good has ever come from an all-nighter and 20-odd drinks.

As a collective, our playing group has thus far achieved next to nothing in football terms, and time is quickly running out for some. Planets need to align, and a lot of things need to click into place all at once to win a premiership - it staggers me that some of our blokes don't seem to realise their part in that.

Not surprised by some of the comments on here and quite disappointed some factual allegations are being edited for fear of 'defamation.'
The truth is that Fremantle players had a few quiet beers in their hotel bar after their WIN on Saturday night, while Carlton players (most of which were considered in our senior core players) were out clubbing until 4am.

Surely there is something wrong here? Haven't we lost 4 of our last 5 games? Haven't we finished in the bottom 5 spots on the ladder for every one of the past 5 years? Why should the club be threatening media organisations such as Ch 9 and TFS last night NOT to report on these issues so we can just sweep them right under the carpet again and pretend nothing untoward is happening.

There are some serious issues with some of our senior players- this goes to the heart of their commitment to our football club, and their own livelihood.
These are issues that need to be discussed and not swept under the carpet by mods for fear of a lawsuit.

(I'm not saying post unsubstantiated crap, but a discussion on the worrying partying culture of our senior players is warranted.)

Josh, safe to say that things have been discussed in relation to the culture at the club as these pages will attest.

Not sure what the club could have threatened Ch 9 and Herald Sun with to stop the story running but rather both media organisations felt the story in light of NRL and NZ, is a non story in comparison.

We did tread very warily until this came out in the media but there has been very little to no editing at all since then , so im not sure where you are coming from Josh

Whilst we can discuss this issue , i still think it is prudent to tread very carefully the last thing any of us want to see is any action taken against this site - no matter how stupid we may think that is - nothing suprises me nowadays when it comes to the AFL

So by all means discuss this , I am horrified by this news , but please please tread carefully

I dont think thats too much to ask

But that's different to someone posting something that refers to a specific incident, or a specific activity, that may be incorrect, scuttlebut or an outright lie.

General conversations are fine, but we need to protect TC as much as anything. I'd rather take an overly cautious approach and be criticised, than be too lenient and be summonsed.
