We should have traded Fevola and Whitnal years ago.

Marcus Drum or Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls would have been a great replacement for Fevola if we had taken Richmond's rumoured offer.

I'd rather have the hope of winning games with Judd and Fevola than more youth in Drum/Oakley-Nicholls, Palmer, Kennedy and Pears/Notte.

Fickle...

Anyone who thinks we dont need Fev has NFI seriously

Sure hes prone to his 2 or 3 games in the year when hes off and the team suffers, but hes dangerous for the rest and still pops up with 80 or so goals a season. I ask again, who is going to kick our goals with no Fev in the side, how are we going to make the finals without a key forward?

If you watched the game properly you would have seen the shocking delivery that Fev was getting all night, yet everyone blames Fev for the loss because hes a badboy and hence an easy target, when the other passengers in our side are equally, if not more, to blame for the loss.

Get off his back!

..both teams going into the game with sub-par/under-performing forward lines, and i reckon both backlines are close so it's definately going to be a battle of stoppages.. ..we've been doing well in the midfield this year, and more importantly our midfielders are kicking the goals we need them to.. ..unfortunately, we've only got 2 forwards out of 6 giving up a real spark so we really need to harness it..

I remember a game at VFL park where we came up against a Geelong side without G Hocking Bairstow and Couch all injured and they beat us. That aside we really should wipe the floor with this undermanned opposition.

So what you are saying is that indivdually he has been fantastic in parts and that should be good enough?

Just a reminder to stick to the topic as DUC has requested. I got a pasting last week in the Pros and Cons thread for the same crime  .

yet you just dragged this off topic again :garthp: :banghead:

for every poster that complains about overmoderation we have 2 posters complaining the site needs more moderation and that wading through circular arguments in every thread is dragging the site down

so not everyone is going to be happy all the time

jumping in every thread and complaining doesnt help

constructive feedback is welcome in talkingissues and talkingfutures

please keep the topics on track !!!

...............

I think there will be a minimum of 3 changes to the team this weekend , i dont like sunday games as all we will get today is the squad

i cant see how collingwood are going to beat us this weekend , even if we do play our garbage style of chip chip ring a rosey down the wings

this will be one of those weeks where our stars manage to drag us over the line

But there is no guarantee we'd have used those picks on those players.

Seriously, that line or argument is inherently flawed.

Really, chances are we probably would have taken someone else.

From Ratten's rumblings it seems that Robbo & Fisher are in.
Given these ins, you'd have to think Wiggins is vulnerable.
Ratten also mentioned Hartlett - surely, this would only be as a backman? Maybe they're going to try out the Tarrant move?
eg. Drop cloke, put Hartlett back, bring Waite forward...

I saw the VFL match last week on TV but nothing before then. From what I saw, MAYBE Robbo did enough - he was probably our best but I wouldn't have thought he was crashing his way back into the seniors. Fisher seemed to be working hard but I didn't think he was anywhere near it.

(Could someone who has seen some VFL please explain why they think Ando deserves to be brought in to the seniors this week, as was mentioned earlier in this thread? I couldn't see it.)

We have a bit of history losing to undermannded teams, Essendon* comes to mind.

We have to get a few things right. No.1 is a better way of bringing the ball into the forward line. Down the middle would be logical, given our major strength over this coming generation is going to be midfield! This week would be as good a time as any to start, against weaker opposition who play out wide anyway.

I would just about agree, and that's an indictment on Hads, because frankly, Bentick isn't good enough.

I thought DUC was talking about Houlihan.

Oh... really? My post makes more sense if you assume DUC meant Richard Hadley. :donk: So, yeah...couldn't agree with me more.

I miss AB at the moment. Maligned by some posters here but provides a means of extracting the ball to the likes of Judd and Smurph.

This was my original post and I meant AB!

That's right - VB was talking about Houla....or was it Hadley :? .

DUC was talking about AB, and I was agreeing - I think.

I hope we win this week.
