One thing is guaranteed, the loser will be sitting 10-11th two games off top 4. We need to win to keep touch as the ladder starts to spread.

If we play direct and they play the wings they can't stop Gibs, Murphy, Waite, Judd or Fev if he plays.

What is back and white and red.

The Collingwood football team with a can of whip arse applied ot it.

Not happy that the Filth got belted last night, would have been much happier with a knock down drag out brusing game, instead they are going to come out fired up. We must get on top of them early and break them, Collingwood are a confidence team and if we can make it clear they haven't a chance, we will win easily. It will be awesome to kill off thier season, in the same way we destroyed Richmonds and then sit back and watch the fun.

I’m still way too disappointed with last weeks disgraceful effort to predict anything that would be considered a grand win. I just want 4 points and a proper @#$%&! effort or I will be deadest livid come Sunday evening. We’ve all waited too long for this club to start turning it around and there are @#$%&! all excuses now. :hitcomputer:

3AW rumour that one of the Collingwood top players took a swing at Malthouse.

If you think things are bad at Optus Oval, you should see the carnage at the Lexus Centre.

We have hit rock bottom if we are hoping half their team is out to get a win.
Sydney didn't have a forward line and still we couldn't beat them.
Hawthorn didn't have a backline and still we couldn't beat them.

Collingwood don't have a forward line or a backline or a following division!

Just dumb nuff, nuff fans who we can take great delight at stirring up next week.

nuff, nuff, nuff, nuff, nuff.

Who cares who plays and who doesn't for Collingwood, we just have to win either way. It doesn't matter if we win by 1pt or 100pts, a win is a win right now.

I don't think Collingwood laid one shepherd or block last night, let alone all of the tackles they "supposedly" applied.
That will mean
a) they can't be that tired
b) it will be something they concentrate on this week

...and this is where we have fallen down this year...Hawks, Swans really put us off with their pressure. (Freo and Ess were the aberations - we thought we would win and played that way - combined with poor kicking, we got lost!) ...Let us play an open game (like Richmond and WB allowed us to) and we''ll kill them.

Malthouse is no dummy...the kids just weren't switched on last night. Injuries are no guarantee of a win (history has taught us that) we need to expect a hard contest and learn to play through that and win...that means hard at the ball and quick decision making to avoid the next tackle and get to a free player.

undermanned Collingwood = Carlton favourites and Collingwood underdogs = "flat" Carlton & fired up Collingwood = close match.

In a way I wish Collingwood weren't going to be undermanned and that they played well against the Saints. I'm expecting another insipid performance from us whilst they will enter the match with a "nothing to lose" mindset.

Please prove me wrong Blueboys!

We have "form" this year losing to depleted teams, already well documented in this thread.

Just take NO NOTICE of what went on last night. They played with a nothing to lose attitude and wanted to keep something in reserve for the old rivals. Plenty in the tank for a "kamikaze" assault this Sunday. They've played out of their backsides so often in the past few years, who knows what they have in store.

Ironically, we played our best game this yr when at our most "depleted" this year, i.e. Tiges.

Just hope we put in a few hungry kids/mavericks to get our mojo back.

Ins - Carlos, Robbo, Browne (emergency last week, must be close)
Outs - Cloke (can watch game with his brother, how sweet), Wiggo, Hadley

If Fev isn't fit, don't risk him. Given how depleted they are, the MC must be giving this serious thought. Waite to CHF, Krooze to FF. A few changes will tune us in as there can be no room for complacency. If no Fraser, it will be Hammer v who?

Why do people keep looking at bringing in guys like Fisher, Houlihan & Setanta. They have had there chances and are NOT up to it.

Players such as Browne, Anderson, Robinson, Hampson, Austin deserve their chance ahead of these guys on form alone.

If they are given the same opportunities given to Russell they just might show they have what it takes.

cj, Because those 3 guys have showed more over 7 or 8 years than the blokes you've mentioned. That's not to say that they are set in stone, or the others have been stamped, just that they have more experience and harder bodies than the other ATM.

I don't know whether 0 games for 2009 for Fish so far is exactly fair given we're 3-4 and lost 3 of those by under 8 points and the Fish does average 1.3 goals per game  .

You wouldn't want all those you've mentioned in the same team at the same time.

IMO they are the past and will add nothing to the development of our side.

I have been to every Bullants game this year plus a lot of training and there is no way you could pick Fisher or Setanta based on form alone.

Guys like Browne, Anderson, Robinson, Hampson, Austin, Garlett, Yarran are the future and deserve not only a chance but are our best chance for the future. If we are about truly developing our list they need to be included and given game time and a number of games no matter what.

If it is good enough for Russell it is easily good enough for these guys.

The modern football game is about injecting youth with run and flair. Watch the games at the weekend and sides like Fremantle and Essendon* were so much quicker and potent they we have been. We are so stagnate going into our forward line it is no wonder we can't kick a winning score.

Over 7-8 years we haven't made finals, so they can show all they want, but at the end of the day we know what we get with them. They won't be on our list in 2yrs let alone 1 for some of them.

The kids CJ mentions are unknowns, hopefully hungury and provide enthusiasm and a spark we have lacked recently.

We've won 1 of our past 5 games. Sh*t odds, those.
