Our main priority I believe is to boost our forward line.

Waite must be played forward as he provides another option and looks dangerous. As good as he has been in defence, he does turn it over too much on the way out.

A forward line of Fev, Waite and Fisher (must come back in) is far better balanced. Play blokes like Austin & Hartlett as permanent defenders so that we can release Waite. Austin looks good and Hartlett seems to be hitting some form in the Ants.

A fit Warnock in the ruck will also make a massive difference.

Carrazzo, Grigg, Walker and Johnson would be handy also.

Fev kicks goals - we win

Who else kicks goals for us.

We are frigid in the front half.

Fev kicked nearly a hundred last year.

Who are you relying on?

Cameron Cloke! :banghead:

Dude he kicked 8 last week and we lost by a kick and he kicked sweet F all last night and we lost by a kick. Cloke and Wiggins are duds and have always been. We do not have the talent yet except possibly in the middle (still lacking in the ruck).

Need to have some talent on each line to begin to be consistantly successful. If you go through each line in our team other than 3 mids and Fev who is really talented. I mean has real ability that has been on show...not who we think will have ability. Needs time, more development and a lot more games into our kids and some hard calls on players with no natural ability and those incessantly lazy.

Forward line and back line...

Would be great if we could afford to play Kruezer forward more and and give more time to Hampson in the ruck (but you must realise Hampson has not yet established himself but needs time). Warnock will be very handy when back and certainly Walks and Grigg because they bring genuine talent and toughness.

Waite should be freed up and the back six structured to facilitate this. Give Austin a chance to cement a place and FFS get Thornton out of there and throw him forward or into the ants.

One dimensional players need to be fazed out of the team (i.e. Stevens Houla Thornton and co.) and opportinities given to those who tick more than one box...Carazzo is very important. Played good role before getting injured...is a shut down player and can get heaps of the ball at the same time and has footy smarts and creates especially with his hands in close.

The obvious deficency is our forward line. We rely too much on Fev (thats obvious) and despite Ratts saying that is something we will try to change this year it isnt happening. We had the chance to remedy this in last years draft. At the time of the draft we heard the recruiters say that they would pick the best talent available yet recently Carlton said that they wanted a crumbing foward so drafted Yarran. I am in no way being critical of Yarran and i hope he does go on to become a great player but wouldnt have drafting a key position forward been the better option? Look at Jack Zeibell, surely he would have been the better option. with Fev being in his late 20's we have noone to replace him in the years to come.
Our backline is still brittle, it has improved in recent years but a strong defender would be useful.
The other weakness is our lack of pace, we have very few players who can run and carry the ball, which is why we so much trouble against Essendon*.
There is going to be no quick fix especially now with the CG17 draft concessions coming in and we are still a long off being a top side.

I think if our forward line was left open and plays fast like Fremantle's did on the weekend then you give your team every chance of kicking winning scores. Fev, Yarran, Eddie are all fast and have great skills.

I knew the game was over within the first fifteen minutes as they had the structures right (and a winning ruck) - the ball went super fast into their forward line. Carlton needs to get it into the forward line faster before they block it up.

Run and carry is an important one...especially if done through the corridor. Scotland, Grigg, Simpson, Armfield and Garlett are important - as they are willing to run and carry (few have done it through the corridor though).
