We've lost 4 games and still in the top 8.

We've lost 4 games by a combined total of 33pts.

We've lost 4 games because of inaccuracy in front of goal.

The only teams I'd pencil in as loses are St Kilda and Geelong, the rest are very winnable.

1. only in the 8 because of our round 1 % (which is being slowly eroded)
2. we still lost: they don't do a review at the end of the h&a rounds and look at who lost by the least margin (that's -16 points.PERIOD)
3. see point 2
4. technically, all games are winnable, its looking at the most realistic scenario that you consider. No more than 7 for the rest of the year by my calculations
8. Go back to your opening comment. "Of course we could also finish bottom 6" It's a motherhood statement used to motivate academically challenged students who are averaging 20% "Of course you can pass, but you'll have to start getting 80s and 90% in your last test and final exam".

Personally, Gee, Stk, WB, Coll, Bris (enough games at the Gabba) Haw are ahead of us. Ess, Freo, Syd, Adel are all in our ballpark. Dunno I'd be betting on us making the 8 this year

1. Bulldogs win is still not eroded.
2. You don't make finals at Round 7. They do reviews at Round 7 to work out what's going wrong and improve in those areas. If we were playing at the top of our game and everyone in top form then you should be worried.
4. We can all calculate nothing wrong with that. But, just check the results over the past 7 rounds and if you can predict what will happen in the next 15 rounds put your house on it.
8? - My opening comment is for people who strive for success not failure. People who want success will have a can do attitude, no such thing as can't, can't is for lazy people.

In reference to point 2, you can review till you're blue in the face, you cannot put a submission to credit back squandered premiership points. It's no different to missing 2 or 3 simple set shots in the first qtr. you can review your approach as much as you like but you are doing your chances of winning the game no favours. A gram of prevention is worth a ton of cure. What review disd we do after the Ess loss?........after the Syd loss?.........after the Haw loss?.........after the Dockers loss??????
In reference to point 8, can you come and tell my 18 y.o, 5ft 6' son that if he wants to play in the NBA he can. He just has to work hard enough. If he doessn't make it, no matter how hard he works his arse off, according to your alchemist inspired theory, he's just bone lazy.
Get real

Mugsey Bogues.

Bogues is the shortest player ever to play in the NBA, at 5 ft 3 in .

Your son still has a real chance so don't choke him of his dreams.

If he has worked his arse off, i would say that he has a can do attitude, not an attitude of can't. Just because he doesn't make the NBA doesn't mean he has failed, and definately not lazy.

Carlton are full of young talent who are working towards team and individual targets like making the finals (success). If they like many forum posters after round 7 have changed their mindset to we can't make the finals, then we should start rebuliding to recruit players who want success (finals) and believe we can even if we are 3-4 at round 7.

As for reviews, the club has spent a truckload of money upgrading technology to perform reviews every week. You and I aren't privy to the individual playing meetings and have no idea if players are learning and developing as per the MC requirements.

It's not about CAN or CAN'T make the finals Rafalution. They are absolute terms. It's about their chances. at this stage, the trend is that they are more likely NOT to make it. If things change, and god I hope they do, then we'll revisit it. from what I've seen from all (players and MC), my confidence is hardly bursting

Which proves the evenness of the competition and gives us a chance IF the team can get some consistency and the MC can punish some players for bad performances and not let them become liabilities in the side
