Pros

Kept trying
Joseph has a crack
Judd and Murph with Gibbs worked hard
Austin, Hampson and Yarran showed a bit
We can stop kidding ourselves

Cons

Fevola - played with a niggle but was pathetic
Stevens, Wiggins, Cloke all rubbish
Lazy first half
Panicky second half
Sandilands is a superstar
Out-toughed and out-played by FREO
Would have won at home. 30 pieces of silver...

Pro: we didn't get thrashed, keep percentage... ummm maybe that will be a con come draft time....

Cons: Traveled for our home game, now have to back up against Pies at MCG... :screwy:

Pros:

Kept working till the end.
Trying to run and link up and take the opposition on.
We don't get thrashed anymore.
Murphy, Simpson, Waite, Joseph.

Cons:

Simple another horrible performance. We keep losing games we should win. Hard to see us making the 8 from here.
Fev and Stevo were terrible. Whatever his injury might have been, looked like he dropped his bundle. Never seen Stevens miss so many easy targets (especially by hand).
Absolutely slaughtered in the clearances. Even when we got hands on it, we seemed to give it back straight away.
Team tactics. Why do we keep trying to play 'shoot out' football against less skilled, but faster teams? Our forward line was flooded all night. Their forward line was bare all night.
Kicking for goal. Again.

There were no pros tonight. Those who were our best did almost what was expected of them, nothing more. That shouldn't be listed as a pro.

Pros

Our top 4 players kept us in the game Judd, Gibbs, Murph, Kreuz
Austin and Yarran showed promise

Cons

Fev should have stayed home pissing around instead of doing so up there
If you don't work at least as hard as the opposition you won't win
Walls was right about our bottom 6
On our current season we do not deserve to make the 8

Pros: Hampson looked okay,
Cons: Almost everything else, we wait for the ball, we are lazy, we have players that won't take the next step to be truly great.

And the biggest con - we sold our souls,

There were two schools of thought last week: those who couldn’t hide their glee at getting close to the reignning premiers (a shocking mindset), and those who thought we did enough to win comfortably but failed due to underlying structural issues and poor coaching.

Surely the last 24 hours have proven the former group to be delusional.

For the second week in a row our highly talented youngsters have gone out there and shown unbelievable individual efforts, combined with the fact that they have no specific gameplan or set up to guide them.

WE SHOULD BE DISPOSING OF TEAMS LIKE FREO WITH OUR TALENT.

We are structurally inept.

The players may be playing for Brett Ratten – but they haven’t been taught how to play to a useful structure for him! The players are great but they have no idea, no structure!

Pros

1. Bower’s great

2. Murphy

3. Kreuzer

4. Judd

5. waite

It’s the same every week isn’t it?

CONS

1. When our players go forward, is there a forward structure that they have been taught to follow? No. Brett Ratten has failed to teach these blokes anything but “kick it to Fev”. Last week we had 31 I50’s to 19 at half time and trailed. Some thought that we were great (Headplant, Blue Vain especially vocal). But it reared it’s ugly head again tonight. We have no structure!

2. Do we know how to play whole team defence, like any other good team in the comp? No! It’s six on six in our back half, not 18 on 6 like it should be.

3. Have our players been taught to stand goal side at defensive stoppages? If they have, they don’t get it.

4. Cloke and wiggo are struggling. Stevo struggled

5. Jammo looked out of sorts. Injured?

We are underachieving with our talent and the coach has to wear some of it!

If Neil Craig or Paul Roos were coaching this team surely we'd be seeing a better product from our pool of talent

pros
Judd (poor bloke)
Austin's presence
Kruezer's endeavour
Waite's effort

cons
boy oh boy have we got a way to go. reminds me of my buddy's best golf tip....some days you have your A game happening and some days your C game.......when it is C game.....well you better knuckle down and grind it out. Pity the blue boys dont have a C game

other con.....very disappointed with turn over rate of N Stevens.

First time I have posted pros and cons here.

Pros

Judd
Kruezer, great despite the fact we got smashed in the hit outs.
Murph kept trying
Young backs - Austing and Bower did well
Joseph, hardly ever loses a 1 on 1, great game

Cons

Thornton, absolutely embarrassing tonight IMO. Was actually worse than Fev, which was hard to do
Fev, didn't want to be out there tonight. Not good enough
Missing easy goals, making basic mistakes, not working as a team
Stevens - 2 or 3 times he didn't go when he had to, didn't Shepherd.
We lost a game we should have won.

PROS

Joseph
Judd
Murphy
Gibbs in patches
Waite in the 1st half
Bower on Pavlich
Armfield was OK
Yarran was OK
Hopefully some media scrutiny this week will trigger a better performance

CONS
Loopy handpasses and high kicks
Handpassing to a stationary target
Fumbling
Overall body language of numerous players (not just Fev)
Inability to realise that Sandilands was winning every tap
Awful game to watch - rather then the dockers playing better then us I think they won cause they were 'less worse'

Con - the number of pros and cons threads.

Bower is not great. Watch again, see how many times he offloads the hot potato to a teammate under pressure.

cons - shithouse effort, shithouse performance, missed a massive opportunity, just gutted!!

pros - judd, but even that is a con, what we ask of this man, is simply unfair. murphy is fast becoming elite though, has taken the next step :) as is kruzer. gibbs need to have a look at the running muprhy does during the game.

just gutted by that perfoamcne, massive opportunity lost IMO

Pros
- Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer
- Yarran showed a bit of potential
- Tackling seemed ok, although normally this would translate to a better result
- Some players tried really hard

Cons
- Too many players did not
- i am embarrassed that FREMANTLE have won 3 in a row.
- our skills are terrible (including shooting for goal)
- no strategy for bringing the ball in; seems we haven't progressed much on this front since last year
- Wiggins has lost his mojo
- Cloke
- Fev, fev, fev...

- It is clearly not enough to think we will be good.

the story of our season to date, but in reality, not good enough to take the opportunities

No he's not, he can do one thing consistently and that is to run and receive and hanball, he is like a deer in headlights plus he doesn't have the skill at the moment to be truly effective. Last week I thought he improved but tonight he was back to his usual shitting his pants self

Very much a knee-jerk post.

Pro - Austin, showed some promise, did enough to get him a game next week.
Bower - played well when on Pavlich
Murphy - just gets better

Cons

Stevens - the 2's for you
Wiggins - ditto
Cloke - ditto
Dipsosal - not good enough

very very disappointed.
