I gained a lot of respect for Fev fronting up for an interview 30 minutes after the game. Showed a bit of character.

And means he is addressing what happened and not being hidden away by the club to lick his wounds.

Spot on. In actuality, Fev's Continental grip may lean a bit to the Eastern Forehand or the Eastern Backhand...or his Eastern Forehand may lean a bit toward the Semi-Western, etc. Only Fev can find the right grip for the particular stroke he's attempting to hit.

Personally, I use a Semi-Western forehand for 80% of my forehands. At times, I use an Eastern Forehand and a Continental. On the backhand side, I use a two-hand stroke 80% of the time (dominant right hand in Eastern Forehand and non-dominant, left hand in its own Eastern Forehand). The rest of the time I am in a Continental grip for one-handed slices and defensive lobs. The point is...each person must discover what grip works best for her/him in a given situation.

This thread is a real gripper.

But I think part of the issue is the way he changes the way he kicks for the shorter distance.

I was going to post something that included Fevs kicking, ball and Caro's head, but realised that it would cross the abuse guidelines. So I won't.

never have i changed my mind so many times throughout one post about whether someone is taking the piss or being serious. after 2 more reads, i'm no closer to finding the answer although i'm inclined to think you were in fact being serious, in which case i have NFI what you're talking about but that it sounds very advanced.
