I reckon Freo is a bit of a danger game.

We've been "up" for the last two weeks with high focus games against highly fancied opponents and made really good accounts of ourselves in both games. The expectation of a win and a perceived opportunity to relax this week concerns me a little although I'm sure Ratts, the coaching staff and senior players will be on top of this.

Ins: Grigg, Hampson

Outs: Bentley, Cloke

That's what we thought last year at the Dome and Warnock caned our rucks. I think we lost the game too....

Hope the players don't think that......

:?

We're significantly better than both sides, by a mile.

I thought we were significantly better than an undermanned Essendon* and slight favourites over an undermanned Swans side.........but hey, let the outpouring of positive enthusiasm continue....Carlton by 100+ by qtr time.

Or, as it was reported at the time - after Pavlich had one of many consecutive attacks of the yips and missed the sealer! :)

massive massive danger game this one. On paper and form we should smash them, but they have their tails up at the moment freo and if we go in with the same attitude we had for the Essendon* match, we could pay dearly.

For mine

OUT:
Bentley
Cloke
Simmo (if injured)

IN:
Hadley
Hampson
Yarran/Robbo (if simmo doesn't get up)

changes will depend on injuries

outs: bentley, either cloke/setanta, simpson (cork),
in: hadley/robinson (whoever plays better in ants), hampson, yarran

If yarran plays well in ants then I'd be content to drop both cloke and setanta for yarran+hampson

After selling this game to Gold Coast, we better win and win well. Also hopefully will be shown around the country live, otherwise it's a waste of time playing up there. We better be making a lot of money out of it, there could have been 40,000 blues supporters filling Ethiad giving Freo a taste of their own medicine, instead there will be 25 people and a couple of dogs (maybe a pig too, but hopefully they are not allowed in, swine flu and all.....)

Having to travel after such a physical and physically demanding game, we have to make sure we don't drop this game or the game after it, which is Collingwood at MCG.

Anyone who is a bit sore should not play this week.

Santy to take Pav, and Sandilands when he goes forward.

We will win this easily, especially after this week's disappointment.
It won't be shown in Queensland until about 0200 as nobody up there is interested, according to the local TV stations. I'll be in SEQld but too far away to go, unfortunately.
If the game isn't a sellout, the AFL should start getting nervous about GC17. Carlton, with it's huge national following, should have enough supporters in the reegion to sell it, even without all those AFL supporters the AFL marketing department has supposedly identified who will flock to see the GC17 team every week.
Carlton by about 60.
One or two to rest for the Collingwood game, maybe even Fev.
Maybe Ando or Browne or Yarran and/or a ruck to play if they are ready. GC17 will want to have a good look at Hampson so maybe we play Jacobs...
An interesting conundrum for the selectors.
We HAVE to beat Collingwood the following week. I want Setanta to play this week and then take on Cloke again and murder him like he did last time. (The Collingwood Cloke of course  )

Would be happy with:

OUT: Bentley, Cloke, (Simpson if injured)
IN: Grigg, Hampson, (Hadley)

However, I'm not sure MC will drop Bentley after one game - seems they like to give more confidence to new inclusions by giving them a few games...

Who will take Pavlich?
- Grigg: Not playing at senior level pace for a couple weeks may work against him
- Bower: Not sure they will give him such a job 2 weeks in a row, especially if Pav plays up the ground
- Gibbs: could get the gig, esp when Pav plays up the ground
- Waite: And maybe free up Bower to play Waite's role running out of defence
- Jamo: If he plays deep forward, FFS put Jamo on him!!!

If we cannot win this one, we don't deserve to play finals.

I agree. This place will go into meltdown if Bentley isnt dropped though.

Setanta playing forward and Kreuzer rucking the majority of the last quarter makes me think Hampson isn't far away. Cloke is yet to play for the Bullants though and I don't think we'll play Kreuzer, Hampson, Cloke and Setanta.

I think Aussie gives us more flexibility at both ends than Cloke. Cloke has also had a couple of poor games in the last 3 weeks, he seemed to have no timing at all yesterday, unless he's been playing FIFA all week and forgot he wasn't playing it yesterday?

Pressure the Dockers and they'll turn it over like pancakes. They don't kick high scores, we do. The pre-season game I wouldn't take any notice of, this game has 4pts on the line.

As for Pav, I'd say he will run around the midfield pushing forward, if so Waite is our best bet outside the centre bounce.

I think we should wait until after the Ants game before we decide the changes..

Being played at a neutral ground making this is a 50/50 game.

I might be a little to critical here but Cameron Cloke should spend a week in the twos. What a weak and insipid performance by him yesterday

Well, Yarran won't be playing in this game. Out of Bullants today with Hamstring tightness.
