Condolences to the Pratt family.

A sad day in one way, but his life should be celebrated as he was a great Carlton man and Australian.

RIP Richard Pratt

Grateful that his pain and suffereing has ended, shattered that the world has lost a good man.

RIP

RIP Richard. So glad you got to see the boys put on a show on Sunday. You've got the best seats in the house for our next flag.

As Sticks said. We WILL finish what you started,

Thank you.

RIP pratty.

it's so bloody unfair that of all people you will not be alive to witness us return to the top where we belong but at least you can have the comfort of knowing you put us back on our tracks and you done all you could've anyway. i'm sure you'll still get to watch us as we win our next premiership, albeit from a few levels above everyone else. and condolences to the pratt family.

Official statement from the Pratt Family...........

IT IS with the deepest sorrow that we must inform you that Richard Pratt died of cancer tonight.

Richard's health deteriorated rapidly in recent weeks after the disease spread through his body.

He died peacefully at Raheen just after 7pm tonight.

Richard was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather to his family as well as being the heart and soul of Visy Australasia and Pratt USA where he created jobs for 9,000 people and the families and the communities who benefit from them.

Richard also had an enormous impact on the wider community through The Pratt Foundation's philanthropy, his advocacy of public causes such as his visionary views on water policy, education, the arts and the turnaround of the Carlton Football Club.

Richard was an inspiration and leader to us all.

He packed more into his 74 years than most people could even dream was possible.

But outside his family, this business was his greatest love.

Even in his final hours his main concern was that the business he built should continue to grow.

His message to you all was to look forward, not backwards, and to keep pushing through these difficult times so that Visy Australasia and Pratt USA can emerge even stronger.

There could be no better way for us to honour his memory than to stick together, look after our customers, and make the company an even greater success.

We sincerely appreciate all your support to date and invite you to leave your personal message at http://www.richardpratttribute.com

Anthony Pratt and Jeanne Pratt on behalf of the Pratt family

RIP Richard.

I am truly saddened as I type, as I know how much you gave to so many, and how much you loved our beloved club.

Forever peaceful now his trials and tribulations are over.

I'm sure some recent success helped him immensely.

RIP

R.I.P. Richard Pratt.

You did wonderful things for our beloved club.... but more importantly, you did wonderful things for our beloved country.

I think that it would be nice if all of the Carlton fans who attend the game this weekend would wear a black armband to show our support for you.
