From this date in each of the last three years we've added just between 3000 and 4000 members so expect the final tally to be between 43,000 and 44,000.

Great effort.

Go Blues!

Stop being so modest. I happen to know that your username GWS is based on the acronym: Graphs With Style. Take a bow, old fruit.

No modesty.

I just happen to know that Jarusa's ultimate fantasy includes a nice crisp piece of graph paper and a new bottle of baby oil...

Just for Jars...

Figures from individual club websites.

No numbers for Adelaide, Essendon*, Sydney, West Coast or Fremantle.

"There are over 8,000 members from last year who are yet to renew their membership. With the support of these former members we will be able to create a new membership record for Carlton in 2009,” Swann added.

Wow just wow... I reckon 45000 is reachable if we can get some of these people to renew. Plus some new people coming on board. Go you Blues!

Colless said their memberships was at 18000 on the weekend - Swans were nearly at 30k a few years back

Ouch - that's gotta hurt.

As for the missing 8000 - most clubs have about a 20% "churn" factor each year so 8000 out of 40,000 sounds about right.

And you've got people like me who haven't gotten around to renewing our 3 memberships yet

I reckon that figure might not be entirely accurate. I keep getting reminders and applications to renew my membership in the mail even though my son and I are now AFL Members with Carlton club support. So they see me as someone who hasn't signed up even though I have.

Hopefully I am the exception...and there are a lot out there who haven't signed up but are planning on doing so... very very soon!!

41,000 is a good effort considering we have only played 2 home games.

What happened to K-Rudd's money? Surely people didn't pay off credit cards instead of buying a Carlton membership?

Seriously I'd expect Collingwood's membership to remain steady as most supporters wouldn't know what a tax return is, but Carlton?
