2009 Membership Tally - 43,294 & 15,078 BBs

Tally now from CFC site at 37,285. Still not 40K however.

Membership numbers can be deceiving at times, some clubs have one or 3 game memberships(Collingwood have this). Family memberships have 2 junior tickets for free, I know several pets that are now members because there were no juniors left in the family..

IIRC to be counted in the AFL's official tally a membership must include entry to a minimum of five games???

It's a bit dissappointing when you receive a request for payment of your membership, when you have not only paid (approx 4 weeks ago) but have also upgraded, from family silver to family captains club! A significant cost increase.
Very unprofessional from the membership dept.
I wonder how many others are in the same boat? :roll:

No solid figure to update here, but Swanny on SEN this morning stated that our membership figure is just under 40K.

Thats just over 1,500 for the week :thumbsup:

Hopefully a few more will sign up on Saturday night before the game

I dont think our membership will increase much more now, we do not have another home game in Melbourne until round 10, pretty poor scheduling.

It is impressive I guess but they have nearly a dozen different membership packages including a 5 game MCG package and a package for 1 game as part of the Tassie membership. They have 6000 Tassie members subtract that and its around 44,000 still very good for a team that traditionally were thought to have a low supporter base. They have done an excellent job in turning supporters into members and have done some creative thinking with the number of different options members have.
