Thank you Mr Pratt for all the good you have done. For Carlton and the greater community.

This thread shows just a sample of the effect you have had on people. A very positive effect.

God Bless Mr Pratt.

Thank you Mr Pratt.

I still remember Friday February 9, 2007 when it was announced that you were now Carlton's new president. That day, you lifted the spirits and hopes of many thousands and thousands of Carlton supporters across the country.

Thanks and god bless.

What Mr Pratt has acheived in his life has been incredible.

His family, his charities, his work, his club.

He should be so very proud and we should be so thankful.

Best wishes to him and his family in this difficult time.

Mr. Pratt, thank you very much for the hope, belief and joy of your absolute commitment and passion, not only to the mighty CFC (which spans nearly 60 years) but also to the wider Australian community- your immense contribution will not be forgotten. :thanks:

My thoughts and best wishes are for the Pratt family at this difficult time.

Thankyou Mr Pratt.
The supporters of our great club appreciate all you have done - upon accepting the presidency in 2007, you commented on recapturing the hearts of the young children & grand-children of older carlton supporters who were potentially lost to other clubs during the "dark years". Well I can tell you now that in 2009, there are more Carlton jumpers worn by the juniors at my son's local Auskick than any other jumper. Well done - this is one of many legacies you & your family should be extremely proud of now & in years to come.

Dear Richard

Thank you for saving and then giving such a bright future to our magnificent football club. I hope you have found as much pleasure from those acts of generosity as the hundreds of thousands of the Blues supporters have.

When number 17 comes it will be difficult to imagine how it could have been possible without you, and I like to think that you appreciate just how much that day will mean to so many people.

Our fans are fortunate, not only for your contribution to the club we love so dearly, but also because, as a result of those wonderful actions, we also have some small understanding of the many substantial and positive changes to the lives of others that must also be owed to your efforts and contribution in areas as diverse as the arts, education, research, charity, business and the environment. I imagine that for a man of such means in a country that hacks down tall poppies that it would be tempting to withdraw from the community, and yet you have embraced it.

I therefore extend my very best wishes to you and your family for the challenges that remain, I hope there is opportunity yet for you to savour the fruits of your many labours.

Sincerely

Pj

Given the situation,
you can expect the playing group
for the next game to put themselves on notice.

- do it for Dick.

Truely can it be said,
this has been a life well lived.

As I sit here and think about the outstanding contribution this idividual has made to CFC and the community generally, it occurs to me that there have not been many people who have affected the well being of so many as significantly as Sir Richard Pratt.

I just wanted to say to him, through this forum, that by knowing of him and his contributions to this club I love, he makes me want to be a better citizen by his example. There is no other individual that moves me in that way.

God Bless you Dick. May your remaining times give you happiness with your family and the Club you adore. :gift: of love and respect

congratulations on all the light you bought into others lives with the generosity you displayed throughout your life

the carlton and wider communities will be sadder places without you in them

may the blues fire up and play out the rest of the season and all future seasons with the passion and pride in the jumper you deserve to see

Indeed sad news. Hopefully Mr Pratt can watch the Old Dark Navy Blues smash the Dogs this weekend.

Best wishes to the Pratt Family, Visy & the Carlton Football Club.

Sir Richard, thankyou for giving us back the Carlton Football Club !!

What you did will never be forgotten and number 17,18, 19 & 20 will be dedicated to you.

Unlike other presidents in the AFL, you let your actions do the talking. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to thank you personally at the family day earlier this year. I am even more proud that you allowed me to take a photo with you, something I will cherish forever.

God bless you Sir Richard........ your legacy will live on forever.

A true legend !!
