My thoughts are with Richard Pratt and his family. For a moment ignoring any partisan views regarding his involvement in Carlton and the ACCC, he is a man who has put a lot back into the community from which he made his fortune. Thank you.

This little snippet appeared in the comments in the Hs article online.

I never knew this.

Quote:
He help to pay for many VC's that were put up for sale just so that they remained in Australia. All of his purchases ended up in the Australian War Memorial for all Australians to see.

I'm glad I had the guts to walk up to him and thank him for his efforts last year in helping save the club.

My thoughts are with his family during what I know is a very tough time. I wish him peace from his suffering and his family the strength to support each other

Thank you for everything you have done, your legacy will live on for many generations

I hope we name our new training facility the Dick Pratt Centre - or something similar.

Thank you Mr Pratt, you put your hand up for the club in an hour of need.

As a Carlton supporter I'll continue to cheer loudly for our Navy Blues.

Hoping you can fight on this week and watch us smash the Dogs!

Thank you again

Terribly upsetting news. God bless Dick. Despite the horrible innuendo from those who like to throw stones from the cheap seats, this world has been the richer for your philanthropic contribution. As for the Carlton community, you filled more hearts with hope than you could ever know. My heart is really heavied by this. I agree with the earlier poster that we should call the training facility the Dick Pratt Centre because without him it would be a figment of the imagination.

typical gutter journalism in the age today considering Dicks health. Quite disgraceful

This is tragic news. I managed the personally thank Mr Pratt for his contribution in saving our great club at a game last year and marvelled at his kind manner and humility. A true champion.

Thankyou Mr.Pratt for everything

come on the boys for Sunday, show Dick that all the support and generosity he has given to club was well worth it, smash 'em dogs on sunday, smash 'em into the docklands turf, smash 'em for the supporters to have a grin on their face on their way home and smash 'em, just smash 'em, for Dick Pratt.

Very sad.

He never had to help anyone ever. But he did, time and time again.

I dont want to draw premature comparisons, but my dear Gran passed away a few days before our last match against the dogs and I still believe that she helped us get over the line. When Mr Pratt moves on I know they're be a good seat waiting for him
