Quick question regarding Fev after seeing how badly his attitude can affect the team. Should we consider looking for another option?

This should go well.

Everyone has a price. I imagine if GC17 threw picks 1, 2 & 3 at us in 2 years time, we'd snap them up.

For picks one, two and three of course you would. I'd consider it for pick 1 and 9

Is that a rhetorical question?

Usually kicks 8 after threads like this. Bring em on.

Gun player out of form. Probably lacking fitness due to dealing with a sore foot.

Bloody oath. We went to him too many times today. And what's the point if he keeps leading to the pockets?

As to your actual question. Bit early in the season for this shit. :hitcomputer:

I can't help to think that in the first game and to a degree the second game we had a different setup in the forward line that spread our goal kickers across the team and almost didn't look for Fev at all.

I believe that this was because Fev was injured to the point where he was of more value as a decoy. Now that he is better (not 100%) the players have gone to the bomb it to Fev strategy, particularly when under pressure. I wonder if this is a direction from Ratts or what Ratts complains about when he comented on the team losing it's structure.

I think that too many of the players are not running hard enough to create options other than Fev and we have lost midfield pressure because once we bomb it forward, the ball comes back too fast to give our guys a chance to set a zone and put pressure on the ball carrier.

Do we rest Fev to force the players back to the structure that worked in the first couple of rounds or persevere until they get it right?

In the heat of the moment there would be a few who would gladly take that offer if GC put it up. But I'm pretty sure by the time 09 is done and dusted, we'll all have a good laugh at the suggestion.

Seriously Fev has to go. 5. 11 in 2 weeks is an absolute disgrace. If only there was a mid season draft we could get rid of him so much earlier. I can see us winning more games than not with Fev out of the team. :screwy: :screwy:

Cloke would be a fantastic full forward option don't you think?

Now I also want to know when the " Move beyond Judd " thread starts. :banghead: :banghead:

The comment about his fitness being down is a real cop out. The guy had a full pre-season and played the first 2 nab cup games- had a rest- then played half against Freo before sustaining the heel injury.

He should be fit enough and have enough miles in the legs to cover the one day he misses on the track a week. Fitness isn't the issue. And if it magically is then he should not be playing just like Scotland isn't.

I said it last week and i'll say it again. If you lead to the pockets your chances of scoring decrease quite substantially. That doesn't mean dont lead to the pocket. Because Geelong lead to the pockets and to the boundary. But everytime they do they then either QUICKLY look for an option in board or kick it to the top of the goal square. It's called un selfish football.

We are currently playing selfish football. We need to lift and lift fast or we'll get left behind and before we know it finals will be a distant after thought.

The up side is that we know we're a lot better than this. So when we do decide to do the right things we will reap the benefits. But until then threads like this should be posted because our star players need to be accountable for the pittiful performance they are putting up at the moment.

Silly thread.

Will be interesting to see peoples reactions if he comes out and kicks 5+ against the Dogs.

Interesting to hear from Murph on Game Day mention that Fev has barely trained much over the last month. Said Fev only really trained this week.

Clearly needs a rest, but I'm not sure if it'll happen.

The rule of thumb in dream team is never trade a premium for a rookie.......same applies in real life.
