Article by Caro talking about Carlton's loan from the AFL a few years back:

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/rfnews ... 06856.html

Interesting that Richmond are stuggling to budget for the redevelopment blowouts.

Has it really been 5 years and was the original, interest free, term 1 or 2 years? My mind must be playing tricks on me.

If the article is correct, its been 5 years and the original term was 1 year....does that mean this is the 4th year we've gone to the AFL and asked for an extension?

If so....whats the point of the article?

Rafalution might be on to something.

In a way im glad to have read that article. Clearly proves that Dick Pratt has not given the club a clean slate and must learn from its previous mistakes

I read it as being 1 year interest free. The past four years we've been paying the interest only.

I'd like to know where she gets this info from, the AFL shouldn't be disclosing this stuff to her.

Same here. So this year is no different to the past 3 years?

It was actually 2006 as shown in this article:

If Juddy really loved your club he'd give up a months pay. Debt gone.

That's what I thought, 2yr interest free loan, extended last year with interest rate and again this year with reduced interest rate.

He hates our club and we hate him.
He should have "chosen" Collingwood.

Is this an extension of a $1.5m loan at 3%?! If so, we would be mad to pay it any sooner than we have to. The club can invest that in a term deposit and make better than 3%, and with the clubs connections they should be able to invest it for a much better return than that. I doubt it is a reflection on the clubs capacity to pay the debt back this year.

Should've gone for a cheaper captain like Nick Maxwell.

Bloody Judd.

Conversly they could retire more expensive debt. We owe more the 1.5 mil and the last time I checked the banks were not in such a generous mood.

Can I say the bloody AFL should have as the club requested when the amount was to be advanced characterised this payment as an AFL grant -instead Demetriou opposed this and made it an interest bearing loan to punish Carlton when at the same time it provided a grant to DEES and Kangas ie a grant needs not be repaid - a loan does plus you cop the interest

Dont ever think this guy Demetriou is a supporter of ours this was an extension of the pain meted out for black friday - advance could have easily been construed as special purpose grant but AFL didnt want to -couldnt give us a grant in case it was linked or seen to be linked to black friday financial penalty

Just forgive the debt - as AGRO says maintain the rage CUP 17 will be done inspite of Demetriou - he is still working against us

Hang on - are we talking "Visy Pay" - or "Salary Cap Pay" ??? Coz if it's the first one, he'll want change!

Bloody hell, how's the emotional language she uses? Carlton " pleaded" , requested would have been a far more professional word to use but not for Caro.
