Any inside info on the shoulder injury?

Anyone?

Updated:
Ratten's comments:
"We'll just have to see on Monday [when he will have scans] what the full outcome is of that. He just hurt that shoulder and I suppose there is a bit of a risk with that because he had some surgery last year so it was a bit of a policy to look after him and not [risk] taking another hit on it.

"He copped one against Richmond early in the game, so we just wanted to make sure that we don't make it a full big injury or anything that could be there for a long time."

Just saw the Jamison injury on Sunday Footyshow and im pretty concerned about it ................ The shoulder clearly pops out DURING A SPOIL, and Larkin was saying it could be a couple of months as surgery is possibly required ............

FFS it's only round 2, and if what Larkins is saying is true, already we're going to have FOUR guys on our LTI list :banghead:

I am perturbed. Players thread said he had a slippage during last weeks game and was sore during the week. Given he has a history of shoulder issues, wouldn't the conservative approach have been to give him the week off? May not have made any difference ... but this seems not terribly different to giving Cousin's hammy a bit of a rub an then sending him back onto the park.

Last year the same thing happened. Jamo's shoulder "popped out" whilst effecting a spoil....from memory it was against Brisbane at Telstra Dome.
Didn't Jamo have surgery in the off season?

Unfortunately it appears that both Jamo and Walker's dodgy shoulders will end their careers prematurely. Very frustrating!!

Let's wait for the scans...there have been lots of times where Doc Larkins has been wrong. It is hard for him though, how can he give a report on injuries when he hasn't seen scans/spoken to specialists?

doesn't sound good. in particular:

damn

this hurts us a lot more than Walks injury. Walker is a tragedy on a personal level, but Jamo hurts us structurally. Not only does he cover the opposition best leading forward, he is so calm and collected when coming out of defence. rarely makes a poor decision. Hopefully Aussie or Setanta can step up.

still, a conservative approach must be taken, regardless of how important he is to our structure. This must be made to not happen again.

The problem is, if they really tighten up the shoulder Jamo will lose a lot of flexibility. A full back who can't raise his arms over his head is not going to remain a full back at AFL level

This is all worst case scenario stuff, Icke even mentions this.

Walker can live without lifting one of his arms over the horizontal, so could Jamo at a pinch (still one arm to spoil). But let's just sit back for 24 - 48 hours and hope for some better news.

Hey, if it's good enough for Def Leppard, it's good enough for the CFC!

I guess if we had to choose 3 weeks for him to miss it would be the 3 coming up. We should smash Essendon* in the midfield so their forwards shouldn't get too much supply. Hall is injured and may miss the next two weeks and the bulldogs don't have a genuine full forward. I think Austin is a big chance to play. He's not as good as setanta in the one-on-one contests but he is smarter, uses the ball better, gives away less free kicks and is more reliable.

I just had a mate TXT me saying he had heard 2 weeks only. Fingers crossed whenever he does cone back he is 100% right and is not constantly plagued by shoulder issues.

Good news anyway. :thanks:

The HS is reporting a recon for Walker and non-surgical treatment for Jamison

I hope that the Jamison isn't a "patch job to get him back ASAP" approach, and he will be 100% when he returns !!!!!!!! I would rather he miss 8+ weeks this year and have it 100% for next year than miss 3 weeks, come back 80%, bugger it up again, need a full reco and miss 12 months ..............

I don't think a shoulder reco is a 12 mth thing anyway.....happy to stand corrected....so even if he does bugger it again soon, he'd be right for next year anyway. I'm probably wrong though!
