The most interesting thing I heard on OWAAT was Ratten talking about Lappin's influence on the forwards and getting them to play with more flair and back themselves in.

Certainly showed with the goals of Robinson, Betts and Murphy.

And Garlett....whose light frame and deceptive skills remind me a lot of Skinny.

Wonder how Josh Kennedy would look in there and whether he would get a spot.

BTW does anybody know what's up with JK, since we last played the Eagles I don't remember hearing his name ever since. I hope he can bounce back from whatever reason he's out.

New show very good infinitely better than Footy Show or Footy classified et al - a show for people interested in footy

I think we saw from the show why Harley is a premiership captain -good articulate -not too defensive about comments made in respect to his players

Ratten also good -noticed he played straight bat on Setanta -doesnt take himself so seriously ie barracking in box comments

Quarters pretty ordinary and not surprisingly didnt get conflict of interest for McChins about Terry Wallace - Walllsy whatever you think doesnt shirk from having a view and is generally without fear or favour

He looked like a dill compared to Wallsy and Harley, but then, he'll look like a genius when Lloyd or Richo is the player on the panel rather than Harley.

As far as the COI goes, the one thing that not one of the people having a go at Eddie mentions is that Fat Ed shoots off his mouth (even that dimwit Brayshaw knows when it's advantageous to shut the F%^& up), and as soon as he's called on his comments, claims that "He said it with his media hat on", as if that's supposed to excuse his words.

Kicked 2 goals for East Freo on the weekend, may be an inclusion for WC this weekend....

The Big Boy curse. Seems to be a League-wide problem.

Why is it so hard to differentiate between what he says as Collingwood President and what he says as a member of the media?

What you said would only be an issue if he made the comments as Collingwood President and then claimed they were made as a journo later.

That's exactly my point. He makes comments, and then claims after the fact that he's doing it "with his media hat on" (I don't consider him a journo, not by a long stretch).

Unless he is on a show specifically as a media person who happens to be Collingwood president, then the comments are usually framed as him saying it as Collingwood president, who just happens to work in the media. Even the way which he says things changes, depending on his angle on the day. Take the "Wallace out, Sheedy in" comments....that was just stirring by an opposition President, not a media footy commentator, and no amount of back-tracking can disguise that.

He was on SEN again this morning and explained again his comments on Wallace. What he said was that if they lose their next two games the media are going to be pushing for Wallace to be sacked and for Sheedy to take over. He didn't say thats what Richmond should do, just what the media will be talking about.

He made those comments as an SEN employee, not as Collingwood President.

True, but his emphasis with his original comments was pretty clear. After all, he's had days to work out how to spin it to sound more reasonable.

And as a media person, if Collingwood lose their next 2, will he make any comments about Malthouse? If not, why not?

Eddie's a deadset bellend. Whether he's a journo or not he shouldn't be making comments such as that when he's a president of another club. He could have left that to another commentator and commented on something else. There's more than Eddie in the commentary box, though his ego takes up much of the space.

I hope like all hell Richmond belt the living suitcases out of Collingwood and then Wallace makes note in the post match press conference that Bucks is waiting in the wings for an underperforming Malthouse. No doubt Eddie will retort that the umpires killed them and then to go on and do absolutely nothing about it like the pack of pussy's they are

Can't agree. He is on SEN commentating on that game and one of the ramifications of the Tigers copping a flogging would be the spotlight being turned onto the coach. As a journalist he would be negligent in not bringing it up. Wallace has openly admittted no finals, no job. The fact that his team got pumped by 80+ points puts his position in the spotlight.

Because he will be answering the questions and not asking them.

Agree, but the manner in which it was stated and framed by FatEd was not as a media person. He only claimed it retrospectively, when he got called on it, rightly, by Gary March.

So he should be neglecting his media job? If it comes to that, he will have to make a choice of which means more to him. And then he should make that call, and head down that path from then on, and walk away from the other. It's reasonable to say he can swap to the other, but again, he has to swap entirely.

I guess he could sit and do an exclusive "one-on-one" interview: Eddie the media hack meets Eddie the Pres.
