Had the highest Top Speed on the field also (equal with a couple of others at 30KPH).

What a fantastic position the MC having this drama at the selection table rather other

Its going to be a tough a tough call and im sure the best side will be picked.

Maybe we can leave Walks itching in the VFL for another week then unleash him against the Bombers saturday night at the G.

Grigga is a must. He has is way ahead of Garlett and Joseph

or do you leave them in for another week and then have both make way for Walks and Stevo for round 3?

and still waiting in the wings os Browne and Armfield

This game is all about match ups and what will benefit the team to get a win.

Ratts and Brett Munro and co will have done their research on Saturday night and looked at the likely match ups for ALL their players.

So again I will say it's not about dropping players but rather chosing the right team.

Can't see Joseph being dropped, far more likely Johnson will have to make way. Morton did give him grief the other night and, as good as his kicking is, we'll miss it far less once Stevo is back doing a similar role. Nice backup, though.

Ins - Grigg, Walker
Outs - Garlett, Johnson

I think we just have to make the hard call and drop Kouta, he's done nothing in the last 12 months !

Even though Walker and Grigg are superiour to alot of players in the side, ........... how the hell do you drop players in a side that won by 80+ points???????

For me.............
Outs:-

Gartlett - love the kid and think he's special, but his body and he's skills just aren't quite there yet for senior footy. Plenty of time on his side.

Russell - yeah, all you Russell lovers are gonna bitch and moan, but seriously he's had 5 years in the game and he still struggles to hit a target by foot or hands. Sure, the goal he kicked was a stunner, but sadly it was pure luck. Throw it on my foot and hope for the best! 9 times out of 10 he'll miss a set shot from directly in front!
As a tagger? Sure, he does his job..........but you still have to be able to kick and handpass.

Johnson - would probably give him another go cause i think he's got the skills but just needs to be shown some belief.

Joeseph - I liked his game. I think he taggs well, creates pressure and never stops trying.

Hmm. Tough one. But soembody has got to be unlucky. My choice is Gartlett and Russell. But Ratts loves Russell so i'm guessing it'll be Gartlett and Johnson.

Go back and look at the game ... Johnson did well.

I say we employ the rotation system.

I never mentioned Johnsons game. Although i think he showed alot of area's that he needs to work on.

I'd give him another shot thou.

i think logically out johnson in grigg and out garlett and in walker

both outs would rightly feel very hard done by, i thought both contributed very well on thursday

joseph stays as a speedy tagger

Out: Garlett (don't want to kill the kid... keep playing him here and there so that he gets the taste and he works his but of in the gym)

and... ummmm.... welllll... i feel like im a kid at a candy store... i want everything but i cant afford it all...

Johnson (would be really hard done by, but there needs to be the two in that i want to see play)

In: Grigg, Tex

Fish kicked 4 goals in the ants... but honestly, i dont want to take anyone else out... Joseph i believe is essential to our team. He is far an away our best tagger and we have to shut down black, johnstone and power aswell as maybe hooper...

..well, would definately depend on how Walks and Grigg are feelin'.. ..either one in for Garlett (needn't be like for like).. .. ..the brions wont play mop [TJ] much in the guts, and no need to actually put a hard tag on black/power.. .. ..russell did the job on TJ at the gabba last yr, and maybe Joesph on hooper.. ..my change would be garlett for walker personally.. ..think we only need the one change.. ..could be more if fev and/or juddy dont play..

Walks and Grigga are Automatic Ins no question.

The outs are unlucky to miss. Tossed up between Russell and Joseph but I think AJ plays a unique role in our structure so he gets the nod to stay in. Plus I did harp on about our lack of a tagger in the Best 22 thread... need to develop a tagger for when we come up against the better sides. Reckon AJ's developing really nicely and should be persisted with :smoking:

Geez it's gonna be even tougher next week when Stevo becomes available. Reckon Fish and Carrots will be spending a lot of time in red this year.

Article in todays HUN suggests that Grigg will be a walk up start and Walker is 50/50.

Does anybody seriously think Ratts is going to drop Garlett? Plays him all pre season, elevates him, plays him round 1 and then drops him? Can't see it happening myself.

He played well and contributed.

What sort of message does that send to the rest of the squad by dropping someone who has played well? I strongly believe you play someone on form and not potential and while Grigg is probably the better player, you have to give the nod to Garlett ahead of him.

Grigg, Walker etc are just going to have to work bloody hard to get back in to the side or hope that someone has a down day.

PJ, I reckon you always need to play your best 22 whenever they're available... so yes, Garlett is droppable IMO.

We need Grigg and Walker playing more game time and gaining experience within our new game style. Especially Walker, who's hardly played the last 2 years due to injury.

..for what it's worth, Grigg's form has been brilliant, played v.well vs cats preseason..

What about Bower his form has been very patchy lately and he appears to be lacking a bit of confidence- made a couple of terrible mistakes and one cost us a goal

Walker could easily play Bowers role and and more umph to it
