No changes, we are a different club now. Players in winning sides get chances to continually prove themselves.

Players not in the 22 need to keep pressing their claims for a spot. Will only make us better.

For me guys like Grigg, Stevens, Walker, Carrazzo etc. should play in the 2's and show very good form until a spot is available through injury or really poor form.

Everyone did their job last Thursday so for me No changes.

Stevens, Walker and Carrazzo are automatic selections. Grigg is up and coming and would have been in the first 22 on Thursday if not for the hammy.

Walker is the one of the 'auto' 3 who will be there in our 17th Premiership team. He's better than at leat 10 of those in our 22, so I cannot see why he isn't in the team in the first place.

And you all know how much of a fan I am for Setanta against the gorillas...but who do you drop?

83 point win....shit it's tough to drop anyone...and pronbly a good idea to have no change against the Lions. Jonathon Brown (gorilla) has to get the ball first, and as I predicted at least a 10 goal win and up to 100 pts against the Tigers because our mids will dominate, the same will happen against the Lions, so no dire need for Setanta.

I wouldn't change the winning team to send a message about the new Carlton, but if anyone was to be dropped it would be imo Joseph, followed by Johnson for Walker. Johnson really didn't impress me as much as others beacause I thought he kicked as I would expect anyone to kick to well positioned leads.

Our mids can't be dropped because they made everything happen for us.

So now that Hooper has kicked 4 and been one of the Lions best players, I think Joseph becomes one of the first picked. If the MC do decide his work wasn't great on Thursday, then surely Armfield has to come in for him. We need someone in the team to do this job.

well stevens is suspended

and walker and grigg are 2 of my favourite players but they can earn their way back into the team

unless there is a matchup worry or specific tactic , players should not waltz back into the side based on name alone

we just won by 83 everyone played their role and the rookies showed some real positive signs

no point changing the side just cos we have some perceived better players on the sideline

reward form and consistency

we used to bag pagan for chopping and changing and screwing with the kids heads

we now have some kids who came in and played real well and we want to drop them for what ?

if there is a genuine reason then walker and grigg come in but not just because of who they are

If Walker and Grigg are right to go i'd say Garlett and Joseph would have to make way for them, though i love the way Joseph goes about it.

Both have bigger seasoned bodies to take on a Vossy influenced lions outfit

Shit this is hard! but saying that is brilliant to be in a situation where team selection cause headaches

You drop no one after a performance like that,i call it stupid unless the player is dropped if he looks a bit flat or injured at training and still sore.Walker, Stevens, Grigg, Carrots and Fisher as good as some are i think have to wait until someone has a quiet one or looks flat at training/ill or the team list doesn't match up. We shouldn't be changing a side just to fit somebody who missed who is good previous years while the guys are doing great selected, we want to be successful. I know i love too see Grigg,Browne and Walker in there and i reckon they will stay once they get their chance. I like too see Fisher,Stevens and Carrots really work hard,no turn overs, poor kicks at goals and stupid reports and work at the bullants like the rest of the team except Fevola,Gibbs,Murphy and Judd and possibly Thornton and Waite who would be selected at their position.

Watchu guys talking about

Houlihan was great tonight i love this guy.
Some of the rookies will need rests throughout the season and also it depends on matchup fits with the Brisbane Lions next week...but really although Stevens may be a walk up start...we should make guys like Walker really earn his spot now.

I still see Walker as being in the 'potential' category...he shows glimpses of brilliance but not consistent enough at the moment and has always been gifted a spot in the team throughout his career...dominating VFL for a few weeks might do him some good.

What are these guys smoking Walker is good but rarely plays a blinder pretty much similar to Russell, you probably have to swap for which to play but some people won't admit it. Houlihan skills are great and makes the play for Judd,Fevola and others.

Johnson- wouldn't drop him.

Even Wiggins (despite his wayward shooting for goal) was good.

I would like to see Grigg (when he is fit) in the team though...but can't see a spot for him yet.

I Agree i don't think Wiggins the future unless he plays well over 30 but his doing enough for now to hold back Fisher and a couple of guys.I hope Steven Browne becomes similiar but with better kicking with a lot of years on his side

The reason we did so well is that Ratts picked players who were fit and in form and that is the way it should stay.

If we beat the Lions next week IMO guys like Stevens, Carrots should resume in the ANTs. Makes a great statement, everyone needs to EARN their spots! :smoking:

I agree unless your the great Judd or Fevola or superstar in the making Murphy and Gibbs

Johnson , Russell . The 2 worst players tonight .
Garlett did OK , but needs time in the VFL yet .
That makes way for Stevens , Walker , Grigg .
Carrots is still a few weeks away , and things will have changed by then .

It was a tremendous win ! But we mustn't forget , the opposition was pathetic .

You throw gartlett,Robinson and those kids who did well in the forward back to the VFL we will possibly struggle, those guys confuse the other clubs with their pace and chasing and tackling, they might not be built but they kind of like a bug that won't stop that just annoys you.

Garlett definetly no and Joseph maybe but i would keep the 22 only bring Grigg if 100% if you had to or Walker for Joseph.

Stevens is an automatic in IMO..

Walker may take a game or 2 then should come back into the team you would think.. I'd say he may be used in a forward role this year, i'd be looking at that, with Fev as the FF and Betts, Robbo and Garlett/Yarran as the other forwards...

Grigg, Carrots and Fish will all be competing for a spot... Out of those 3 though I am a big Grigg fan!

Geez we have some quality depth at our disposal now!
Stevens is not an automatic selection his not 24 and full of speed and super skills, his a good player i admit but i reckon at his age he needs to be very quick and hard at it to get back if young players are showing their skills while his out and he might have to play 2 if we killing it.

With Hooper and Power among Brisbane's best this week , it would be a big call to drop Joseph now !

Walker for Garlett, Walks killed it in the magoos again that makes 3 1/2 games he's played now. He's so far inside our best 22 so he should be getting a start this week. Unfortunate for Garlett but he knows he's thereabouts and probably first in when a forward small is needed. Can't ask for more than that first year on a rookie list.

Grigg for Simmo, i think Simmo is in a bit of trouble. Will probably get a week.

Garlett's game was promising but not outstanding. I love his forward line pressure but he is simply too undersized and Walker is an absolute must for our team. Walks is an X factor and is cherry ripe to go.

Walker for Garlett AFAIC

I have watched the replay of the Richmond match twice and am impressed by Johnson. Am amazed at the criticism. He did so many good things that night. Take another look guys.

Our number 25 didn't put in too much last week. Only kicked 2, and one of those was pretty sketchy.

Maybe it's time he got a run in the twos.

Imagine Fevola in the 2s.

I reckon he'd kick about 27 goals.

Unless it was windy, then he'd scrape in 26.
