"If they are only part of tonight's story, Cousins and Judd embody the characteristics of their clubs. Cousins is, like the Tigers, unpredictable, desperate, and hell-bent on recapturing past glories. Judd is a footballing blue-blood - unflustered, self-assured and born to win."

Says it all about our beloved Blues!!!

Last night I said:

"Get [REDACTED] Richmond, you're nothing but a pack of cauliflower"

A Richmond "supporter" at the game last night had half a cup of coke left deep in the third quarter.

"Hey Cuzzzenns" he quoth,
"Got sum coke for ya maaaate"

He was soundly booed.

As he should be.

He didn't offer it with ice.

I liked this from an Essendon* supporter who phoned SEN last night...HATED Carlton & just returned from 10 years living overseas.

"I go away & miss 3 wooden spoons...I come back to Melbourne just in time for THIS!!!"

That's pretty good. I like that.

Also liked the Richmond supporter who called Mark Fine on SEN last night to inform him, "I have just sent my membership into orbit off the Westgate Bridge. I'm never supporting that rabble again".

It's only round 1 FFS.

That quote is absolute gold.

I think it's a testament to us that even though things were pretty bad, we were never as feral as Richmond and never were we so fickle and disloyal. I am feeling so good at the moment. Everyone I speak to: "Yeah, Carlton will have a flag in the next 3 years" :sly:

I am thinking a Hawthorn-esque rise... they went 10th, 5th to 2nd. We were 11th last year, hopefully make the 8 this season but probably between 5-8, and then next year make the Prelims and see how we go.

Not really a quote but this is from sports confidential in the Herald Sun today....

Revised Richmond Song

Oh we're from Loser Land
a fighting fury we're from Loser Land,
In any weather you will hear and hype and spin,
Leading with out chin,
Cry and moan and bitch and groan
we'll whinge and whine and whinge.
Oh we're from Loser Land,
We'll be long gone before the final siren sounds,
Like the whingers of old
We're feral i'm told,
Oh we're from Loser,
A BUNCH OF BIG HACKS,
Oh we're from Loser Land

I have 3 tigers mates. I sent off a message saying "you blokes would have to be kidding wouldn't you?"

Response 1: yeah yeah yeah 21 weeks to go

Reply: Of what? Pain? Misery? Anguish?

Nothing more.

Response 2: What a C#$% of a football club I barrack for. Weak as piss.

I couldn't reply to that.... just said it all really.

3rd bloke said nothing.... he is quite clearly the smartest of the 3

Nathan Buckley is quickly developing in his media work. He brings a different perspective that is refreshing.

I think Buckley wrote that with gritted teeth if you heard the tone of Nathan's voice when Walls mentioned it on 3AW today.

The Pies love us.

Yet Buckley is quickly becoming one of my favourite commentators with his knowledge of tactics.

Voss' special comments were as obvious as Wallsy's and gave us nothing.

Walls is a bit long in the tooth and out of touch with modern footy.

Ratten's Inside Football columns were similar to Buckley's, so Buckley will be a good coach at Collingwood.
