Hi all

Just listening to SEN this morning with Hutchy and Pickers. They were adament that Wayne Hughes would go to the Gold Coast team as a recruiter. They also spoke to him this morning discussing when they went to America last month to some draft camp. But they did not talk Gold Coast to him. Anyone else hear this......

if Hughsie goes to the GC, it will probably be to get away from Carlton supporters.

The "some draft camp" was the NFL draft camp, a little excursion to see how it's done in another footy kulcha.

Scott Clayton has moved to the GC so not sure why Hughes would also go there too.

SEN has a lot of air time to fill, so makes up stuff to keep the phones ringing.

Hope this is just SEN phone - filler. I reckon Hughes has done a pretty good job so far. I want him here, not buggering around on the Gold Coast.

It came from Hutchy. Nuff said.

Anything of interest come from the interview? I missed it.

Nothing of interest in the interview. It was a bit of a nothing waste of time.

Just talked about the draft camp at the NFL, and saw the way the researched each player etc. Talked about recruiting for talent or good family background.

Just a few minutes really. They really havent got much to talk about.

I heard Hughes doesn't do much recruiting or scouting anyway. His assistants do most of the work.

Other than the number one draft picks (that picked them selves) he has picked some real doozies

No big loss if we lose him.

Indeed.

Maybe my comments are a little harsh but now more than ever is where we have to get our recruiting right. We have stable of guns but its the range players that will play a part to taking us to our 17th.

There are still some gaping holes in within our list and one being our lack of forward options. For me players like Wiggo, Cloke and Fisher just don't cut it.

Surely picking the next best must go out the window from now on and we must think beyond the Fev

At last check, Wayne Hughes wasn't in charge of list structure.
