Everyone is spooked by our recent track record in recruiting ruckman from other clubs.

Warnock will be fine - actually he will be more than fine.

But we should have some patience - Warnock, Hampson & Kreuzer will be a great ruck combination for the club but they are young and will require some time.

They fail to forget Pagan isn't in charge anymore.

Those who have seen Warnock play can see the ability he has for a ruckman so early on in his career. Some seem unable to understand that ruckmen won't be dominating at age 20.

Fair dinkum, Warnock really isnt that good... im really not too concerned at all. Gives us a chance to see Hammer and Kruzer... and maybe we might see Jacobs get a run.

If Jamo or Waite goes down then ill be concerned, we dont have that much depth in our backline... but for the ruck im not concerned

Your assessment seems to directly contradict the view of the club regarding player requirements.

Ratts stated clearly that we needed to bolster the ruck because we got smashed last season, and we then went out and traded an early second rounder for Warnock.

The club then passed up on Hurley, a defensive KPP for a skilled HFF to assist our goal scoring potential.

Go over some of the comments made about Warnock by those in the know in the club (Icke, Ratts etc) and you will see how highly he is regarded.......but then what would they know :?

He Hasn't really cemented a spot at the dockers and we are better then them i would think. It's a bit of a worry with the amount of injuries he has.

I guess his first year could be ruined by injuries, but he has another 2 at least. He probably at least get 5 seasons like other players who are highly rated but you can't keep a player on the list for too long if they never on the park when the list is 38 if this continues year to year.

Everyone would hope to be a ten year player but that's a big statement for someone with plenty injuries
I don't believe in this Ten years things, you have to prove it like Gibbs,Murphy,Kreuser and i can see Grigg and Bower.

I hope the club lets him eats bags of peanuts, cakes, chocolate and has someone feeding him lots of pasta and meat pies to put on weight.

I think just don't let him get to near a vegeterian for the next year while he recovers.

Rambo, whilst 206 hadn't cemented his spot as the number 1 ruckman, which was occupied by Sandilands, It would be safe to say from a ruck POV, that Freo are better than we are.

Plenty of rumours before Xmas that Warnock would be missing for 3 -4months, I dont think he was a wasted pick and as far has football miles go he isnt even run in engine wise with only 20-30 games on the clock so I cant see why he wont get better injury wise and be of value.
A good group of replacements with Jacobs, Hampson, Kruezer and sometimes Cloke so I dont see Warnock as a major loss considering he was a project player.....I think Jacobs has shown plenty in the preseason comp and is our best tap ruckman at this stage and Wayne Hughes deserves some credit for picking him and the club for showing some brains and having adequate resources in the ruck area for a change...unlike when we had to rely on Hotton and Merrington as our backup rucks in the dark years...

Perhaps it is a blessing in a strange way. Sauce certainly wouldn't have been given an opportunity if 206 was up and running. And maybe it will also enable Hammer to get more senior game time.
Just looking on the bright side.

Q. What's the good thing about Warnock being out for the first half of the year?

A. He can't get injured

2ndA. He can't cop a pasting from everyone on here should he fail to get 50 hitouts per game in his first season with us.

He hasn't played a game for us and already injured himself. So I'd say yes, he can.

Warnock was looking good and pulled up abit sore .
The club thought it was best to rest him.

Will be an EXCELLENT 10 year ruckman for us.

I trust Synners' judgement when it comes to these matters

12 years in the moonboot you reckon????

Look, he was a skinny kid thats put on a heap of weight in a hurry.
His body is still growing and maturing.
He is a modern day ruckman and still very young as far as ruckmen are concerned.

There are not too mant 21/22 year old ruckmen in the league and we have 3 or 4 that age or younger.
Were all abit impatient at times as its one of our problem areas.
But realistically youre not going to see the best of Warnock this year (injuries or not)
What you do want to see is his body succesfully managed.
And thats what is being attempted with a great bit more optimism than a few people here that already wanna throw the baby out with the bathwater.

The guy will be one of the reasons we will be a powerhouse club.
There is no hurry as he is still very young for a ruckman.

Just let him do what he needs to do
