This is a forum - there are all manner of weird and wonderful views in here, none of which require any form of threat, pigheadedness or moot argument about 'Go on, say it to his face'.

Forum writers can take a view on Stevens' anger on the field being misplaced and I for one agree with them. You dont see every player getting upset at a tag and as a club leader he should do better. Just because he's a good fellow off the field doesnt mean we shouldnt expect more on the field.

Two suspensions (plus one in earlier years for the same thing) is at least one too many.

I think you'll find that the earlier suspension was a carry over from his port days, hitting a collingwood player if I recall, so it was worth it

I didn't take HB's call of selfish as a personal comment, I took it as a comment of us suffering for his on-the-field weakness, again. Ratten and others have come out at the Club talking about how important the first 2 months are, yet Stevens gets aggro in a practice game against a non-entity Club and invokes a carry-over suspension? That's the football definition of selfish.

I understand what you're saying Troybond and agree that although its a forum and ppl are able to say what they want, it doesnt mean they should. They still shouldnt resort to cheap shots and get personal.

But the thing is, reading HB's post, it wasnt really a cheap shot and it wasnt personal either...what he said was related to football.

I have not met Stevens and dont know what he is really like as a bloke but when your getting around 500000 a year and ar eone of the highest paid players at the club its totally irresponsible.

I wouldn't be throwing words like 'irresponsible' at him regarding the karatechopopenhandtotheguts incident it's more about learning to control your emotions. He's a heart on his sleeve sensitive type of guy, who seems to have a constant battle with his impulses. That's why I never ever wanted him to be captain.

He's human, with obvious flaws like every single one of us.

Do people think just because you are getting payed shit loads of money you can fix every fault you have?
