What you do to give him the shits is when he asks you how your football club is going - you tell him that "Melbourne Victory" are travelling very nicely at the minute thank you very much and watch his eyes cloud over with anger.

Someone rang and asked why he hates Carlton so much and he admitted it was envy.

I'm glad the hate and fear is back.

You guys need to relax a little.

Did anyone else hear the Collingwood supporter call to tell the joke about the kid whose family barracks for Carlton and decides to barrack for Collingwood himself?

Couldn't string two words together and kept saying Collingwood instead of Carlton

It's hard to string words together when you have missing teeth and a bruised upper lip.

Anyhow, for what it's worth I don't mind Mark. I like his show with the TV Freak.

I think the important thing here, and this gets back to what Grigg said in an interview recently, is the Carlton players need to view the wearing of the Carlton jumper as a privilege, and a privilege that demands that you 'deliver' when you cross that white line and enter into battle. The players are answerable to the board, and the members. There is an expectation that you will succeed, and with Judd, Fevola, Stevens, a 206cm giant, and a stack of high picks they'd bloody well want to succeed. This is the attitude that the Old Carlton had, the one that won heaps of Premierships, and it's the sort of attitude that the current players need to have instilled into them. Seems Ratts has got through to Grigg, let's hope the rest of the list shares the same mind set. If they do, then Mark Fine might be a lot more envious in a year or two.

I know he likes to dig into us at times but i reckon hes one of the best presenters on that station. I like his style how he rips into everyone and takes no shit from anybody, and he has a diverse knowledge of sport unlike 90% of the others who only know AFL.

I have met Mark Fine (spent an hour or so with him).

I don't know you keogh, but if you don't mind a smoke and a drink and a heated chat about footy (or any other sport), you are just like Mark.

Yeah, he looks at the Saints through rose-coloured glasses (and at Carlton and others with a jaundiced eye) but that's just part of supporting your team. We are all guilty of it.

Tend to agree.

It may be too early to say if Ratts is a gun coach, but I can say he will instill respect for the club and its history.

It's our version of the Shinboner Spirit.

I think the Collingwood one revolves around going in so hard you get a few teeth knocked out.

You must be a very perceptive person to sum up someone in an hour

I drink but dont smoke

And if he is a true saints supporter he is a cretin

I would have a higher opinion of him if he didnt have the 10 in a row dvd pack

You knew him after an hour

I guess you can answer that one for us

If you truly believe anyone who barracks for St Kilda is a cretin, then you are seriously deluded (and I can sum you up well within 5 minutes).

If you do believe that, you presumably think that all who support Carlton are paragons of virtue, which, I submit, is patently untrue. After all, you and I obviously cannot both be perfect if we disagree so vehemently.

Anyway, I see little point in continuing this exchange. Hopefully our next interaction will be more pleasant.

Best wishes.

Supporters of clubs can be catergorised according to which club they support. There are general differences

Carlton supporters are arrogant. Thats why the supporters of other clubs have been so happy with our last 7 years. And I for one reckon we deserved it because of shit recruiting, the thinking that we would never be shit attitude and shocking admin.

StKilda supporters who have been stupid enough to visit this site have rejoiced at our lack of success.

Now kkk think about that for a minute

Get it. A club with a bunch of supporters who have won one flag with a flukey kick out of a pack numerous high draft picks who havent been in a Grannie over the last 5 years and who have to fill the cupboard space with 10 in a row home and away dvd packs.

Thats stupid. And thats what a cretin is. A stupid person.

My best mate is a saints supporter. Smart bloke but when it comes to rating his footy team he is dumb. Thats what happens when you have one cup and 26 wooden spoons. And yet these supporters laugh at our lack of success over the last 7 years.
And that is why I hate them so much.

Final siren on SEN is ok to listen to for a while. And I admit when you have guys like Jim from Hawthorn ringing up every week telling all and sundry how great Hawthorn is our Mark has to fill in the gaps. Fact is like many in the media he likes the sound of his own voice too much. He also wouldnt go to the Telstra dome to see his beloved saints because of the ticketing arrangements and told his listeners too much. He gets a bit boring and repetive after a while.

But hey good luck to him he is earning a quid out of job that we dont get paid for when we go to the pub to talk about the virtues of our footy club.

But he is an aints supporter and I havent met a smart one yet in my life

I know Mark personally and he is a really funny, quick witted guy who loves the Saints. He is excellent at his job but he is not a good bloke.
