On right now. Players (Fev, Waite Betts etc. and Captain Carlton) have hit the streets and are trying to sign people up. A mate of mine has spotted them.

Interesting.

Looks as if the 'THEY KNOW WE'RE COMING' campaign hasn't hit the mark as thought. Money well spent

Why is there never a grassy knoll when you need one - then you would get a lot of mark hitting.

Given that the worm is beating last year's worm I think it's going pretty well actually.

Maybe along the lines of "We know we're shit" or something similarly negative

something along the lines of "we're not trying" or "we didn't try" would be a good membership slogan

Is the 2009 ahead of the 2008 one?

My issue with the motto is that we're yet to prove we are 'coming' to the football world? A motto created around potential but no runs on the board. It's cheap talk

If it were any other clubs motto all of ye would be laughing at them just as we're being laughed at.

Lets hope we live up to this expectation of 'we're are coming' and if we don't is ur 2009 motto 'we never said when'

2009 memberships up on 2008 at the same date. Not by a lot, but given the current climate any increase (especially given such a high base) is a great effort.

By the way, having players engage their local community and do a bit of cheesy spruiking for memberships is hardly an indication that the membership campaign didn't work. It's all part of the broad strategy.

Thinking otherwise is a bit like saying that McDonalds sending Ronald McDonald to kid's events is an admission on their part that their advertising doesn't work. You can (and should) use many channels to deliver your message.

THEY KNOW WE'RE COMING

God, I love it because opposition nuff-nuff supporters hate it.

As are 99% of club membership slogans. The reason for a slogan is to get fans excited and inspired enough to buy a membership. That's why the club didn't go for "We think we might be a little bit better this year".

Great initiative outside the usual bounds of a membership drive. Will keep drumming up publicity at the very least and drive home the message that people out there do indeed know we are coming. That slogan has easily been the most successful of any club so far in terms of indentification for Bluebaggers and debate for the unwashed.

The only thing cheap going on is the serial cheap shots being fired out of Melvey's sog-on gun. Pele has pills for that mate.

Here's every club's membership slogans. Look how easy it is to be critical of them.

WHAT ARE YOU PREPARED TO DO FOR THE SWANS?
"What!? Shouldn't they be telling me what THEY can do for ME? This is rubbish"

WE WANT FULL-ON MEMBERS (CATS)
"Oh, so they don't want me if I'm just a 3 game member then? Well, screw them"

BRINGING BACK THE DEMON
"What does this mean? I don't like the demon anyway"

LOYAL, PROUD, PASSIONATE (FREO)
"They just pinched one of Hawthorn's old ones. Typical of our club, we love getting rejects"

LIVE THE CREED (PORT)
"Most people don't know what 'creed' means, save for that band the Snowtown murderers listened to while they put the bodies in the barrels"

STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY (ST KILDA)
"Sounds like a boring school motto. How will this excite people?"

STAY TROO (NMFC)
"Just a stupid wordplay. Too kiddie. Fairly gay. Looks like we can't spell"

A NEW BREED OF EAGLES
"Just says that we've got a whole bunch of kids, and we're going to lose most of our matches. Why would I sign up for that? Fail"

ONE CLUB. ONE FAMILY (Hawthorn)
"I can't believe we won the flag, and no reference at all to being the Premier team. Rubbish"

SIDE BY SIDE (Collingwood)
"So embarrassed by that 'we're beautiful' rubbish, we just reverted to a line from our song. Dull and predictable."

ARE YOU WITH US? (Bulldogs)
"I've seen this a million times before. Let me guess - there'll be pics of Johnno and Coon-dog, crossed arms, looking serious. Crap"

BE A TOTAL TIGER
"This is shit. It doesn't mean anything. Why didn't they say something like Young Guns, or Yellow & Black, or They Know We're Coming. Garbage"

See... it's pretty easy to be critical, isn't it?

Sydney Road, hey. I wonder if they'll continue up the road. There is a lot of untapped potential in the Sydney market.

I've heard next years is "ALL DA PREMASHIPS A KAKEWALK"

Oh by the way my mate that gave me the scoop about the membership drive said that each player had to wear the Captain Carlton suit for 5 minutes and see how many names they could get. He got Setanta and told him he follows Collingwood :?

strength through loyalty - although a little cliched is probably second best at the moment.

Maybe our slogan should be "We wear blue", personally I like to keep it simple
