Clarkson has hinted that Buddy Franklin might end up doing a Richo, and becoming a tall, running midfielder/utility. I am not surprised to hear this, and have thought for a while now that it's just a matter of time before Buddy run through the midfield more, and wrecks havoc. I saw him do this a few times last year, and was startled at what he can do in there - because of his pace he is able to break the lines better than just about anyone. It's a frightening proposition.

But then I think, perhaps Kruez could become like this. Kruez appears to have such great agility, that he essentially can do more than what the normal ruck can do. He has the amazing ability to bend down to ground level and spoil/pick up the ball, normal rucks can't do this sort of thing the way he does. And he has god endurance, and while he mightn't be as lightning quick as Buddy, he can run. Logic suggests Kruez can have that midfield presence as a ruckman, but he could even be a tall, roaming wingman/utility.

Let Warnock and Jacobs/hammer do the ruck work. Let Kruez roam. He can go back when needed and assist there, or bob up forward and create mismatches.

Quote:
"They're such a dangerous commodity, pushing forward, when they've got the ball, and also because of their size, they can assist enormously just like a ruckman, the old dropping back and filling a hole in defence" says Clarkson.

Does Kreuzer have any cousins?

For a quarter against Geelong this is exactly what Kreuzer did. He played as a "ruck-rover".

He palyed in a forward position later in the game.

Not a bad way to break a tag if there is a backman that could keep up with him.

Jono Brown racked up 25 touches a game in the middle at one point not so long ago... he smashed himself and now struggles to get out of bed in the morning.

Buddy is going to find out real hard what playing as a midfielder is all about... I'm glad that the Roughead and the Dawks are satisfied with a bloke that struggles to hit a 10m target 60% of the time delivering the ball.
