talk about playing scared. they are fair dinkum playing the jumper and not the opposition out there. self belief is a wonderful thing and this side does not believe that they can compete with hawthorn. the skill errors are deplorable. they are second to the contest every time. numbers at the contest are always in favour of the hawks. disgraceful effort so far. raises a lot of questions about tactics and desire. we're near on playing box hill for christ's sake

I wonder if we are in the middle of a heavy training load as we look really flat.

It would make sense to have a big week this week with only three weeks to Rd 1.

A couple of things:

1. Russell back to his old tricks. Three shots at goal for Hawks coming directly from poor Russell dispoal in our fwd line. Saw the difference when Houlihan got the ball.

2. Defence to tall especially against a mobile fwd line. Cannot have Thornton, Bower, Jamison, Waite in same defence.

3. Need size in midfield. Either a Bannister or Hadley are needed at centre bounces.
