Two Tassie heads are better than one.

Great to see Judd running free and able to turn and change direction.

Judd's looking as good or better than late last year, but still seems to be struggling to shift his weight when changing direction. Nimble wouldn't describe his lateral movement at this point IMO.

I hear tin rattling..... not sure if it's 'The Lid' starting to wobble, or the bushfire donations.

I hope it's 'The Lid'

Excited by what tonight might represent. Still, concerns remain about the defence and one dimentional forward line. Something I know Ratts is conscious of so will be interesting to see how it develops as the season goes on.

no offence to you, or anyone that says, but that statement is starting to shit me.

its got to the point, where it is almost tabo to have a full forward who is great touch kicking goals.

we had 12 goal kickers today, so really sure how that can be considered one dimensional.

but people look to fevola, becuase he is a damn good mark on the lead, and is an even better shot for goal.

why wouldnt you target him at every opportunity you got?

i hope we remain one dimensional, if it means fev is kicking bags of 6 and we have 11 other people kicking goals in game. do that i will go along way to winning every game we play.

agree totally scotty, although it does make us a little predicable, but with good reason.

if fev gets injured i still reckon we could go okay with several small forwards sharking the likes of kurzer and cloke up front.

houla, yarran, eddie, fish, garlet even.

don't forget waite can be effective up front too.

I have to admit I haven't paid agreat deal of attention to this pre-season but I was pretty impressed with some of those little tackers.

I was super impressed with Robinson. Besides that I reckon Graeme Whitnall and Dustin Fletcher's mum must have an affair at some stage because Mitch looks like Big Red and Fletcher spliced together.

The big Ranga in the ruck looked pretty decent too.

Bit concerned seeing the Krooz go off injured - anyone know if he's okay?

Oh, and I thought that Ziebell kid from North looked a bit special (in both senses of the word I guess!) - looked a bit like a young James Hird, in appearance and play.

I can't believe Carlton overlooked Zibel for Yarran....

Eddie Betts showed his importance to the team and he played Yarran's Role perfectly

Zibel looks all Class & although Yarran was injured early, I just hope he doesnt turn out to be one of those players who will have Flash moments of Brilliance whilst only having few kicks a game and not being influential

Great match. The most pleasing aspect was beating North. I don't think we have beaten them since 2004... long time between drinks.

I liked Eddie Betts' game. So many turnovers were created by his pressure.

Also liked Robinson...he has a fire in his belly and a lot of intensity which is great. Well done everyone who wore navy BLUE. Hoping for a big year from Jamison in defence.

Of the newies Robinson, Johnson and Gartlett were the standouts.

Great commentary on the replay by Leigh Matthews. He gives great insight into football.

One thing which detracted from the match: Channel Seven's entire commentary team should be shot. The lot of them are spacktacular mongos.

From Leigh Matthews calling us Collingwood at one stage and then Dennis Commetti trying to fit in a joke about Setanta..... x 1000. Should have left it alone when he realised it was bad, but instead went on to try to explain it.

I dont think you could say anyone had a poor game.

Regarding goalkickers, I think it'd be nice to have 3-4 multiple goalkickers and thats what people really mean when they say we're one dimensional, but really Fev is such a beast, the key is going to be getting Yarran, Betts etc at his feet more often.

I thought Houla was good, but appeared to be out of the game a lot in the first half. I noticed him early and the next time I saw him thought he'd been quiet. I think he needs to play on the wing and drift forward with the play, to get more involved in the game.

Hey Gez, your man Grigg was a star, good piece in The Age today on him.

"For Fevola is fed by a midfield now on a par with the best in the competition. Maturing players Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs, Kade Simpson and most specifically Shaun Grigg add to the obvious Chris Judd and Nick Stevens. Grigg, in particular, could be the player with the right speed, run, carry and delivery to allow Stevens to spend longer sweeping deeper behind the ball to govern play from half-back."

Are u serious?

Zeibell is a class act no doubt and I would of been happy to get him BUT how can you judge Yarran on last night?

If you've seen Yarran last year and in pre season you wouldn't be worried. Given time Yarran will be a gun. After last night I reckon we would be pretty happy with our recent recruiting. Robinson, Garlett, Jacobs, Joseph, Bentley all showed good signs.

probably my fav all night was when Robbo was going after the pill, like a dog after a bone, tackling, diving head first etc, and he gets the ball out (this was in the third I think) and Matthews just laughs... It was the laugh of someone who loves this game seeing the same love of the game/contest/etc in a kid.

I am a huge Grigg fan too. I get so excited each time he plays... he gets better and better.

KK & TBB, I agree... the coverage and the commentary was shit last night. However, I actually didn't midn Bucks... I liked a lot of his comments.
