Quite simply the most comfortable win I have seen by a Carlton side in 7 years.

Yeah, I'm already a fan of Robinsons.
Found a little hottie too, can't remember who it was though... shaved head. Gartlett maybe??

Cant complain about that at all - good win - things are looking up .

Can some one buy that Garlett a Big Mac FFS he looks like he needs a good feed
10 possies in 33% game time according to Ratts - not bad for a walking stick

Cloke adds something up forward - even if it is only a foil for Fev - big guy throwing his weight around - and good on Stevo for giving him a bake when he could have gave it off

Bentley not bad at all

Wiggo's cult following is going to move very quickly to Robbo

Gibbs is just sensational and if Grigg had his pose and disposal he wouldn't be far behind him

Good first up effort. Was nice to beat the Roos for a change, they looked very sloppy, but its very early yet.
Great to see the youngsters turn it on.
Robbo - reminded me of Wiggo in the courage stakes, great first effort and i cant wait to see him play a lot this year.

Garlett - looked like a kid filling in for the seniors who were short of numbers at the local footy in terms of stature, but what a live wire. There was a moment in the 3rd qtr when he ran past Judd for the handball, but Judd didnt have the ball controlled properly in time to get it out to him fast enough. Had he we would have seen him rocket straight in towards goal from about 40 out and slot it.

Jacobs was solid in the ruck with some nice work off the deck also. Hope he gets a bit of run before Warnock is ready.

Gibbs - what are his odds for the brownlow? :smoking: Time, space and CLASS. What an exceptional player this kid is going to become.

Thank @#$%&! we have Footy back, even if it is the preseason comp.

Garlett doesn't have a shaved head. Maybe Joseph?

Didn't do much possession wise, but put his body in well.

I was also very happy with out spread of goalkickers too. Although some more multiples would be good, as Fev won't have nights like that each week.

Yep Houla was good tonight, liked his game and the role he played too.

very happy with the performance.

very hapy with the debut of alll the new players. all showed abit. shame about Yarren, but his mark, was quality.

yep, not much to say really, was a performance to be very happy with.

i thought our attack on the ball when we didnt have it was superb, alot better than it has been for sometime.

Not sure... once I saw him. I kept trying to see his number, but couldn't. Then when he got the ball (which wasn't very much) brucie and the gang were too busy bloody talking... I hate that!!! Yeah I saw him tackle a few players and he got knocked over and straight back up again... that turned me on. hahahaha... anyway.

I just got home from the Dome. OK, it was only a praccy match - but plenty to be pleased about:

PROS-

- GIBBS. He now looks like a man and plays like a superstar. He's going to be huge for us.

- Encouraging 1st up performances in Navy Blue by Robbo, Garlett, Johnno, Bentley, AJ & Sauce.

- Bower, particularly after half time.

- We have Judd.

- No major injury concerns (I was sitting near our bench and I think both Yarran & Kreuzer look to have only minor ankle injuries).

- Strong contributions across the board. Overall energy/intensity within the team looked good.

- Good crowd, must have been 70% Carlton fans.

CONS-

- It's great we kicked 17+ goals, but when the real stuff starts, I'm concerned that our forward line will be exposed as still too one-dimensional (there was a lot of "bomb it to Fev and hope for the best" still tonight). It's stating the obvious, but we are waaaaayyyy screwed if Fev goes down...

- Some sloppy tackling at times (I thought we gave away too many in-the-back and over-the shoulder free kicks).

- Sauce did OK tonight, but it's going to be a long year for our inexperience ruck division.

Tex and Scotland are probably the only two missing from our best 22, IMO. But with the likes of Fish, Carrots, Hammer, Warnock, Browne & Carlos to come in - our depth is a million miles from the dark days of 2002-2007...

yay!!! got the set top box working. missed the end of the 8.30 telecast by 20 min, but got 20 to spare before the delayed standard definition full replay.

looking forward to analysing this over a few cold ones.

so bloddy happy.

how good was jacobs!!! don't see to many complaining about hammer being off the picth now.

still love hammer, massive upside in him, but sauce was a natural tap ruckman and probably shaded macintosh i reckon. great first game.

josesph was bigger than i thought, garllet is lightning quick but very raw, but to have 4-5 shots in about 30 min of footy is impressive.

robbo will be the same for the next ten years, a brilliant foot solider in the wiggins mold, with maybe a bit more hurt factor.

grigg is just wow. wow. would love to see his effiency stats tonight. this kid is all hurt factor.

houla will be a very very damaging player this year and MUST PLAY CENTER OF FORWARD all year.

bently is a poor up and under kick but does get reasoble distance rather that a similar player in bentick who has poor distance, but good depth for the sqaud these guys. nice big bodies. feel like hadley has the class to over take these two if he can get on the park from time to time.

pheiffer could stuggle, but good depth with 4 guys fighting for one or two spots.

can play a role all of them.

johnson had a few nice moment and a few bad ones too, not totally sold on him but a good 'squad' player given carrots and scotland were out.

i can see banno being over taken by russell/robbo/wiggo even jospeh but plenty of good compititon.

walker will be really well suited to the style of play we played tonight.

the zoning was great, i don't know what we've done to counter kick ins froma behind but it seemed to work a treat tonight.

i'm hopeful we don't show all our cards this early in the season so we can't be easily counted, but we seem to be playing to our strengths.

felt like i was watching the bulldogs play but with a decent key forward in fev at the end of it.

gibbs is all class.

murphy i reckon is a tad over rated but i'm probably a but harsh on him. he sure puts himself of the line.

umps were totally whistle happy many many soft soft free kicks.

i can't recall the roos looking so presured by a carlton team in a long long time.

these kids have belief and know they are up to it.

would love to maybe see ellard get a run next week, for yarran.

hammer for kurze.

rest judd more.

he should not have played last qtr at all IMO.

but it's all good tonight!!!!!!

Gartlett is a skinny bugger. He will need some bulking up.

Noticed that Wiggins was wearing the flouro 'injured' top at the end of the game as well.

pretty sure wiggo was "replaced' in the side so could not be subbed back on and that was the reason for the orange top, so the interchange steward knew he couldn't take further part in the macth, no because wiggo was badly injuired, but i could be wrong, maybe we are both right

We now have a gun midfield with Gibbs, Murph, Grigg and Simmo leading the way.

A pre-season gripe... When can we get rid of the 9 pointer? We don't need it. We have the 6 pointer which has done us well over time. I hate looking at a scoreboard and seeing 3 categories on it - especially when they are either a 1 or a 0. The 9 pointer makes the pre-season comp look a joke. Yes, use the comp to test new rules by all means, but if they fail to be approved for the regular season then get rid of them.

Two Tassie heads are better than one.

Great to see Judd running free and able to turn and change direction.

me too

pretty sure you're talking about joseph, shaved head nice medium build, got smashed in one contest and bounced straight back up.

did a lot of team things without getting a lot of it. not too bad, probably the most quiet of the debutants other than yarran.
