The team who loses this match has the opportunity to win Grand Finals within 7-10 years, the winner of this match will not be in contention in the next generation. Such is the talent, quality and leadership of Marc Murphy. He could be our Michael Voss. It's a big call and a lot of weight to put on a young player, but ask a club recruiter and I doubt any could dismiss such a suggestion outright.

However, if we finish with the wooden spoon and Murphy goes to Brisbane under the Father/Son rule, it will be a wooden spoon with no silver lining.

It's a chance we have to take :!:

Bing, Mick.

This sounds bad and you wouldn't hear it basically anywhere else, but we have to lose this game.

It's a must lose game.

If that happens we'll probably be in for many many spankings in the future from them

Yes we did Sami, but if we beat them again we lose and if they beat us we win. It's a whole winners are losers thing.
9th is the new last.

Agreed Vintage this match is the most dangerous as i suspect the Hawks would also be quite happy if they lost this one. As the media implied the loser of this match will be the winner in the draft .... then they canned the draft system which i agree but its there and hopefully after this year it changes but while it is in place this year .... we have to get Murphy
From what i have heard Murphy and Dowler are the 2 best prospects would have been top 5 in most of the last couple of drafts the next best would have been outside the top5 picks in more of the recent drafts.
And Murphy is a fair bit better than Dowler. I suggested to someone would be good to chase down a Kerr or another good midfielder and he replied Murphy is a much better prospect from what he has shown
He is a smart player good skills and very level headed a future leader. So all sounds good to me just got to hope he dont go F/S and that we get first crack at him. I know its a lot to pin on a draft choice but if ever the Blues needed a spark for the future hey he looks like a good place to start.

In total agreeance Frank, under Pagan we play a much better
brand/system of football than Hawthorn under Clarkson. I feel it's going to be the saddest of days.

If we finish last, I reckon we may have a 70% chance of snaring Marc Murphy at the draft table.

Morrell or Norman to replace Thornton? They're both so crap, I don't which one would be the better selection to ensure we win the spoon!

Yeah, by 6 points!
We also won the wizard cup earlier this year... doesn't mean anything.
I am confident that we will beat Hawthorn, but it wouldn't suprise me if Hawthorn gave us a spanking.

I think by Thursday night we will know who is out to win the match.
The selection table will tell it all.

A shame we don't have a player of the quality of Shannon Watt to stop Williams. But they're too well drilled and are still playing for their coach to tank, but their lack or forwards may bring us undone.

We should drop Fev citing his groin injury, another week off for French, play Lance at CHB on Croad and bring back Houlihan to tag Hodge!

We were lucky to get up last time without Fev and their midfield should be too strong for our c graders.Especially with Spider.

Good Call lol

I think i will try and contact someone to pass a msg onto DP we win if we loose :)

Also if we loose this one we can then beat up the Bombers as they are now out of priority territory lol

But the Hawks beating us will give us a good chance to beat the pies or the Bombers :) which i would much prefer and if we beat one of those 2 and the hawks beat us we will still remain a 1/2 a game below the dorks
