No I'm not saying that he's simple, just a simple poll on whether we should keep him or not.

Keep him. So kk would you want ANY player on the list sacked for the same incident?

I've had bigger punch ups than that at Jnr level basketball training than that. Afterwards it usually strengthens the bond between those involved.

I've thought about that question KP, tough one to answer cos in footy it's not always one rule fits all.

So I'd have to take it on a case by case situation.

I might not want him sacked, perhaps I want him banished to Preston, not allowed to train with Carlton at all and made to play for the ants for the year. If he leaves he breaches his contract so gets no money.

Two kicks to the date after felling your teammate?

Dont have a problem with suspending him for a while, hopefully not all season as I'd like to see if hecan improve in the second half, or you might as well chop him now and promote a rookie.

There has to be one rule to have discipline. Case by case is something i would expect to see at StKilda while they are languishing at the bottom. You cant expect lower ranked players/fringe players to have to abide by one rule and the top ones another. That just distroys any leadership amoung the playing group.

Not quite, but i think the kick looked more like a "get up you weak prick and stop overacting" type one, rather than the type of kick that is to inflict damage after he was down. If he stood there kicking him repeatedly in the ribs or head, i would be all for giving him the chop.

The exact defence we laughed at Collingwood for using to justify keeping Didak.

It's a cop-out.

That said, though, he'll miss 4-6 rounds of the season proper, and be back with a vengeance. But I won't be surprised if this was his last year with Carlton and in Australia.

I voted sack him

flare/punch ups between teammates happen on occasion in sports so that, whilst undesirable, can be forgiven. The kicking of cloke whilst he was down/not facing setanta was unacceptable imo - It smacks of contempt for the teammate and is a deliberate attempt to humiliate/insult.

The kick, whilst not a full blooded swing did travel quickly - a short sharp kick (which it was) still has the potential to cause serious harm/injury/pain. As a comparison with punching, its pretty much like a jab as opposed to a roundhouse - still hurts and is dangerous - particularly when the person has no opportunity to defend themselves and when it was aimed down there (coccyx/groin area)

Sack. People keep saying things like "I've had bigger punch ups", "HTFU" and the like, but they're missing the big picture. It was the disprespect he showed to one of his teammates that has pissed people off, and if kept around his presence WILL affect his colleagues every minute he's there.

No more good will come of him, at least not enough that's worth this shit. Off he goes.

4-6 weeks for the first punch, another 4-6 for the kick, another 4-6 to earn a position back, in other words season over.

..i really liked the big setant', but unless news comes out of clokey provoking him to such a degree that it explains such a dog act (highly doubtful), it's time for him to clean out his locker.. ..i honestly thought he had potential, but he can tell it to angwin and norman..

As highly doubtful as that may be, you've made the statement, so now I'm curious to know what in your opinion would exonerate kicking a team mate while they're down.

Not shit stirring - just honestly curious.

Nobody at Carlton earns the kind of money to entitle them to the $950 payment.

Oh, it's means tested on tax returns?

Sorry, my mistake.

..it's cool Mand', i know yer not shit stirrin',, not yer style.. ..at least, not fer serious matters.. ..yanno, i'm not too sure meself what clokey could have said to explain why setanta reacted as he did.. ..note i said explain, not justify.. ..honestly, can't really think of anything clokey could have said without actual fact/substance behind it.. ..otherwise it's just all BS hotair trash talkin' isn't it(?), so unless clokey slipedd him the malnaminger finger it's curtains for setant'..
