how are these games at sticking to schedule?

and are we going to be playing 20 min qtrs (if the temp is okay)?

just because i need to be at the airport by about 5.30 at the latest for a 6.15pm flight.

if it looks like i'm struggling for time i might have to bugger off a bit earlier than i'd like.

Barnesey, I have a goal umpire for us mate. It's the same mate that was doing it for us last time, he just had a rist op so he can't play, but is more than happy to goal umpire.

Gezman,

traditionally found these games finished by 4 - 4:15pm latest.

You will have enough time to get to the airport for 5:30pm no worries at all.

Fantastic :thanks:

Goal Umpire sorted.

We still require:

- scorer

-bench official

If anyone on the day can bring an esky with (booze maybe) but ice as well that would be great. Ice just in case of any niggles and if it is hot it helps big time.

Lets start getting active on this thread again just so we ensure we are all on the same page come Sunday week.

I will bring the esky with ice.

There will be a few TCers' on the sidelines we can get to score. I know Bluegirldanielle is going and i dont think she will mind keeping score.

Good.

As long as we have the ice covered, a scorer covered, and someone to help on the bench that would be great.

Any volunteers for photographs would be great.

I will look at creating a "Talking Carlton" Group on facebook etc. I have contacted our administrators to ensure their needs are met as well and will go from there.

Lets keep the "they know we are coming" slogan real

Enjoy the heat in Melbourne

On the subject of HEAT

I have just mailed Demonology on the position that if come Monday or Tuesday we find the forecast is in the 30's for Sunday, maybe we should be in the position of fully understanding whether we have the flexibility of playing at 10am to avoid the heat and still have the game.

I will start a list again, and would like you to confirm you ability to start at 10 am if the need arises and it is forecast to be hot that day.

At this stage there has been no discussion of this, but I wanted to explore all alternatives so that we know that we have Plan B.

It may turn out that only a handful can, but I wanted to ensure we know where we stand.

Just copy and paste if you are available for the normal 2pm start but also a 10am start if it is hot that day:

umm crap, if the game was at 10, i might make in time to sing the song at the end of the game!

my flight doesn't land until 11.05am, with the intention of a 2 pm game. sorry to throw a spanner in the works!

what about a 12.30pm kickoff?

hottest part of the day is usually around 3 pm this time of year.

I don't think there will be any problemo for the majority of my guys, if not all of them, should the game starts at 10:00.

No panic, we can look at 11:30am.

it is only if they agree and it is a day that is predicted to be hot.

No worries at all.

I think it is worth looking at and gauging generally people's availability on short notice to play earlier.

It just means come Monday or Tuesday we can make an informed decision based on ensuring the game goes ahead.

Even 11:30 am maybe hard but reasonable for Gezman.

But as long as we know people can move at short notice, we can change the time, people can be aware of it and adjust accordingly.

May even be 12pm, but lets just get a feel over the next day or two and have that plan b.....

cheers

any earlier than 12 pm and i simply wont be able to make it in time for the start of the game.

even 12 pm would be a stretch (given i've got to get from tullermarine to the ground, ready to go in about 45min), but i can live with that, and if i'm late, i'm late. no use holding up the whole game for me.

if the game ends up being moved before 11.30am, to be honest i'll have to reconsider coming down at all.

not much point for me really, but i totally understand when players welfare is the issue.

anyhow, keep me posted, fingers crossed it's a forecast of 25Deg and the heat isn't a major issue.

actually i just found a 10 day forcast - put as much faith in that as you want but early indications are Sun 24-26 deg so we could well be fine.

cheers
gez
