You gave a clue, Synbad gave a clue and kenny gave a clue.

Given all those clues it was pretty easy to connect the dots.

You are as much to blame as anyone.

My clue? "It's not an airline"....Worst. clue.EVA!!!!!

Yep - very good news....although I suspect it's going to be superseded by Richmond's announcement sometime this week of Nissan as a shorts sponsor.

However, I have it on good authority that Robbie Warnock is only marginally taller than the Petronas Twin Towers. As I understand it - the sponsorship deal involves Warnock traveling to KL for promo shots and 'back to back' measuring with the worlds longest measuring stick.

If anyone's looking for a cheap, quiet but exotically tropical beach holiday, check out the Perhentian Islands.

Off the east coast of mainland Malaysia, just below the Thai border, there are two islands, 'big' and 'small', and they cator for backpackers as well as those wanting a little more luxury. I was there in June a couple of years ago, which I think is the best time of the year to go...the beaches were white fluffy sand, and the water crystal clear...coming in on the boat, you could sea turtles 20m below. And unlike Thailand and Bali, the Malays are absolutely on it when it comes to conservation of the coral reefs, rubbish collection etc.

Not a party place, but great if you want a week of chilled tropical sunshine.

A nice little leveraging opportunity with our home game against Freo on the Gold Coast.

I stand to be corrected, but isn't there a substantial upgrade to the GC airport being currently undertaken to fit in a brand new Air Asia terminal?

Aren't Perth and GC the only two Air Asia (or whatever the name of the Malaysian national carrier's el-cheapo subsidiary is) destinations in Australia?

Looks like the club - and if not the club, a local travel agent - have until Rd 7 to scrape a promo together, give away a holiday (including a GC-KL flight) and maybe put a few extra bums on seats on the night.

Its a bit of an old-skool idea, but GC are only just reaching the end of the 80s and wondering if there's something not-quite-right with George Michael.

Gee, I dont know.

I mean we cant rely on continuing lucrative sponsorship deals to survive.

I mean we had AVCO for years, Hyundai, Optus etc - really we just cant go on doing this - sooner or later we are going to have to put in place a real business plan - you know like buying a hotel or two - something that can really generate some good solid cash flow into the place.

I mean lucrative sponsorship deals - really.

Your right. We always seem to find money in the wrong places.

Atleast if not in hotels, maybe invest in the stock market...we can't got wrong

Well done to the admin once again, and I love the one liners our media department comes up with.

I see your point... on several pages... in several threads...

You're running the risk of diluting your message. Why not start a thread titled 'Why AGRO thinks Melvey is wrong' and be done with it?

Crsader,

AirAsia X is flying out of Melbourne. Very good deals too!

I'll add my 2 bobs worth about Malaysia...a great tourism destination....unless you aer a Bali/Phuket Bars all night looking for cheap company kind of tourist.

I can't recommend Langkawi enough and KL is a busy chaotic sometimes dirty city, but so is Sydney and Melb ...and all of lots of life and a myriad of interesting things...
I'll have an eye out for specials for sure...(actually just missed one a few months back! )

Agree with BS, Dr. Mahatir is a sanctimonious piece of crap. Him and Paul Keating would make a fine romance. Both as bad as each other.

Aside from the leader of the country though the place is awesome, well worth a visit for the people that haven't been there.

When you look at it these sponsorship deals with tourism boards they are a relatively cheap form of getting your brand out there. Very happy to have them onboard.

I think Sparky hit it on the head, the word MASSIVE

Hmm, might be one time to forego the corporate look for something simpler on the jumper. That type is almost illegible and will be next to useless during games. C'est la vie.

Long live Swann and all those involved at the club in taking us from the worst club sponsorship-wise to the best in just two years!

They know... 8)
