Murphy for Warnock.

if it ever came to that you would imagine freo would have to throw in their first pick
ie warnock+pick3 for murphy

wouldnt want that imo

I know it was a joke - but if Freo wanted Murphy, apart from Warnock they have absolutely sweet f-all to offer, apart from their top draft pick.

Gee - they're really rooted, aren't they?!

exactly. Obvious;y the preference would be to retain murphy but if for example he didnt sign for whatever reason that would a reasonable 'deal' for the club.

Assuming the draft went
melb - watts
eagles - rich
We'd have a choice of either natanui, ziebell, hurley, hartlett etc

In 09, gibbs could take up murphy's role in the midfield, and we'd be adding warnock (genuine ruckman), and say hurley (KP back which allows waite to swing forward), ziebell/hartlett (the murphy replacement).

come to think of it, I'd probably be demanding mundy or the 2nd round pick as well...

I'd expect Murphy to sign though.

My nephew who happens to be the spitting image of My Smurph asked him last week at the Lower Plenty pub if he was staying at Carlton and he said 'absolutely', he wasn't going anywhere.

My nephew, because he has been raised well, did not ask him why no announcement on a contract.

Billy Brownless raised the issue of Murphy not signing yet on SEN.

I find it somewhat amusing that some posters think he would be part of a deal that would send him interstate. He did once refuse to go interstate and his choices at the time were to go to the worst club in the competition both on and off the field or a team that had just won 3 grand finals in a row.
Yep Murphy wants to go interstate now.

If Marc Murphy decides he wants out of Carlton - I will invite "The Turd" and the "The Person that I would normally like to see on Tuesday" to Christmas Dinner at my place.

According to Blues Girl on CSC, Hartlett and Edwards have been given one year extensions... I think that means they are now contracted till the end of 2009.

Very interesting if true.......

if Cazzesman was to answer or comment on every nervous nellie or other "Billy Brownless said blah blah blah on SEN what about it" post on here, he would never have time to do anything else.

Quite possibly Murph's agent has put off negotiations until after the B&F and Brownlow. It would make sense to wait, especially given that he has had a very good season, to strengthen their bargaining position. He will sign and on a good package.

As for Edwards and Hartlett I think the MC has realised that there will probably not be a lot of good forwards available late in this draft and we may have to give away our second pick (24) for Warnock. Insurance possibly?

Murph has agreed to a 'unique' contract that needs a tick from the AFL....

His Payment will be based on how many times he's called 'My Smurph' on this site?
