Get over it?

Try telling that to a devestated 6 year old Carlton supporter - it could have at least been handled better from what I hear...

...I guess some people don't think before they post after all.

I'd tell them the same thing I was told after doing a 36km walk to the MCG for high school on the proviso that meeting us there would be Merv Hughes, Dean Jones and Glenn Archer, only to find no-one there but the MCG ground staff and locked doors to greet us. Things don't always go as you hope, but life goes on, and whinging won't change anything.

Yes, his management could've handled things MUCH better from the sounds of it, but I'm yet to hear a single reason why Bryce himself has to be the one to cop it for their mistake.

This is basically a pathetic thread. Bryce has been hung, drawn and quartered for reasons unknown.

If you think Bryce is the sort of lad who would ever knowingly not turn up to something for no good reason then you have never met the lad.

His management would set his agenda and if any engagements were to be canceled then it would be the managements responsibility to make contact with those concerned. By all means have a dip at the Management and expect some answers but atleast give the kid the benefit of the doubt until you know otherwise.

Regards Cazzesman

But life is full of disappointment unfortunately, better to learn now, then go to life thinking there isn't. It would be great if there wasn't but that only happens in fairy tales not in real life. I know you would have been pissed off not seeing Bryce there and seeing your kid sad for a short time, but he will see him or others some day when it's possible for the players.

I think everyone takes the Carlton players like they are a machine, they have lives too sometimes outside their work.

Wouldnt take much for one of them to go down and put in an apology on behalf of Bryce.
not really everyone takes it different, might take days before they want to talk to anyone beside family.

There's more drama here than a year 10 text meassage but, for what it's worth, I let my 4 month old cry her arse off until the ad break while I watched the GF today.

I guess family doesn't come first for me.

Loser.

Hang on. Let's get this straight.

I wasn't there, and I didn't intend to go there.

I don't have a 6 year old - that was an example I was using.

And not once did I rubbish Bryce.

All I was saying, is that others had a right to be upset/disapoointed with the situation.

Saying 'get over it' to a 6 year old isn't going to help the kid to understand why he can't meet his hero... if anything it may be the Gibbs' managements fault for not notifying/rescheduling.

You have to walking a fine line between being way too precious - or being an inconsiderate prick.

I guess I'm just a little too empathetic of others... :?

Regardless of whose fault it is, it is poor form. If you want to cut loose, let your hair down etc etc then instruct management not to make any appearance bookings during your holidays!!!!

If Bryce didnt know about it and was stitched up by his management then I hope he reads this thread and demands some answers from the smarmy bird representing him on the phone.

Whilst not really a public appearance, I have to go to the Grand Prix every Feb to talk to clients at a Corporate Box. If I didnt show on the Saturday because I was a bit dusty from Friday night, and when my boss called to see where I was, my wife gave him some glib lines, I'd be in a bit of trouble. If I or my wife rang up on Sat and said the kids were sick, the cat's been run over or my mother in law's veruca has burst, then they'd probably be pretty cool about it. Common courtesy!!

When I was about 6 - I cried my little heart out when "Zig & Zag" didnt show up for a public appearance at the opening of Shopping Centre or some such.

Now that I know that "Zag was Zigging" or was that "Zig was Zagging" - I sleep a lot more soundly at night knowing I was spared the indignity.

Maybe he is recovering from the corrupting influence of Big Fev on Mad Monday.

Seriously has everyone here never missed an appointment.

Perhaps in future club events should always invite a pair of players just in case one has a "diary conflict".
