I cannot wait for Saturday. I do not care who wins, what goes on, any of it. Its just a good day for beer, friends, bbq, and a kick of the footy at half time. A first goal sweep, Norm Smith Sweep, you name it, Grand Final Day rocks. Just an awesome day with footy friends and family. I get to check out and remind myself what is required of our Blues before we are back where we belong. I will not be at the game. I will settle on the couch, probably watch the 95 Granny, whilst eating a big brekkie of bacon and eggs, remember the good days, take the dog for a run, freshen up and get ready to watch. I will not move for six hours other than for food or drink. Watching what I have too look forward to in the coming years. For me Cats by 82, Buddy 1.12, Stevie J - Norm Smith, 1st goal, Ablett.
Have a great GF Day!

i can't believe everyone is so emphatically in support of this post.

am i the only one who is excited by THE GRAND FINAL??? isn't that what this whole game is about?? :? this is the highlight of the year for me. i wouldn't rather be anywhere else in the world. yes, i couldn't care less who wins, but what a spectacle it is going to be. franklin, ablett, hodge, bartel, selwood, this is the grand final i'm most looking forward to ever in my time of watching footy.

what a great time to get together with friends and family and have a bbq, have a kick and just have a good time.

No you're not and yes that's what AFL is about.

I didn't like the first post.

I'ts the highlight of my year there is a September atmosphere that I just adore and nothing beats hanging out with the friends and family to support what I believe is the best game in the world.

Hawthorn and Geelong deserve to be there they have recruited well and worked up mental and physical toughness to be the best. Good on them.

Our time will come but untill then I'll be there with bells on to see the best against the best. I haven't missed a Granny in 21 years and i don't intend to.

I hate Clarkson - unless the board appoint him as our next coach - then ... I love Clarkson

I have experienced 40 more GF than you T_B3 and I feel just as excited. This will be a great game between two teams who both thoroughly deserve to be there. I don't care who wins but it will be a ripper of a game.

I love The Blues passionately but love the game itself just as much. OK so maybe I am a footy tragic but I don't care, i will enjoy every moment of Saturday and then be hanging out for season 2009 to begin.

I haven't forgotten or forgiven the unjust punitive treatment handed out to us on Black Friday but I will not let that destroy my love of the game.

i think its hard to live in melbourne and not get caught up with grand final 'fever'.
the finals series has been a bit boring this year, so let hope for a goal-for-goal, holding your breath till the last minute, game. and just think... that'll be our boys running around the 'G in september over the next few years... how can you not be excited by that thought?

im a footy romantic and want the hawks to win it for crawford!

I just throw myself into local footy. Beer only costs $3 out at Ainslie or Jamison. You can have a kick at quarter time, half time, fulltime and sometimes even in between (on the hill of course).

A few years back I was coming down half a dozen times a year and now it's round 1 for me and that's it. I'll be watching on the weekend but more for teh drinking and companionship with the boys than any desire to see the game.

Oh yeah and always hoping for a bit of an all in punch up in the first quarter

Have no love for either side. However, as long as Milburn plays for Geelong, I will always support its opponent.

If you lived in Sydney, you'd feel like you're missing something.

That something is the last Saturday of September at the MCG.

I have great memories of this special day, and you know as a Carlton supporter, you know your team will always be mentioned or highlights shown of the great feats of the Old dark Navy Blues on this day.

GF day is Carlton Day in my books.

Having played in the Hawks jumper as an 18yo, and admiring Hudson, Crimmins, Knights, Matthews, Tuck etc, I have a soft spot for them.

But whilst Clarkson, Kennett and Pelchen are in the spotlight I could not stand to see their egos being stroked with a win. I hope the Cats smash them.

Enjoy Carlton Day....you lucky bastards living in Melbourne.

Grand final day is a disgrace as it signals the end of football season... :(

Btw, I hope I wasn't the only one who felt like throwing up when hearing Alistair Clarkson's comments about Robert Harvey. You sir, are an absolute hypocritical clown...

This is all your need to say.

There is Carlton - and nothing else matters.

The players that are there now are those that have been through the hard times, or players that have chosen a club with very little hope... in 5 years time they will be lauded as champions.

I'll be watching and hopefully Geelong will win, dislike Kennett, Clarkson and Crawford for different reasons.
These are the benchmark teams setting the standards and raising the bar and you have to know where we have to improve to catch and overtake them.

You kidding? this is the pinnacle of the year in which Carlton started being relevant again in the football world; this is the big day for the year for the greatest game on the planet.

I care. I care about the standards being set and I care about trying to understand what Carlton needs to do to be like these 2 teams, hopefully better.

If you are not excited about this Saturday then you are not a lover of football. I cannot wait to see the two best teams of the year contest.

Should be an awesome game.
