I know that its at this time of year that our so called (highly paid??)marketing gurus conduct think tanks for the upcoming 2009 season membership and marketing campaigns.

I've personally been in recent times dissapointed with our campaigns. In my humble opinion our recent efforts have in fact been nothing more than uncreative and lacking of any emotion.

Heres an idea:- write a letter to Mr S Kernahan and ask for his permission to use what I think is one one the most emotive on liners i have ever heard in my time :-

WE ARE CARLTON FLOWER THE REST

Instead of giving us hats and/or scarfs print out 50,000 good quality
T shirts with this slogan emblazed across the front and back and get 50,000 Car Bumper stickers printed out along the same lines and make these the central peice of our 2009 Marketing campaign.

If need be put all our memberships up $5-$10 to facilitate it. Can you imagine potentially 50,000 people rocking up to the MCG or the Dome Round ONE with these T shirts on. what a sight!!!

I love this club and for the past 6-7 years we have been to hell and back.

Its now time that we stick it right back up the rest of the clubs & the AFL included. 2009 is going to be the right time to get arrogant again.

PS:- To all those politically correct persons you guys can simply recycle your 2008 boring stickers and hats and everyones happy...........

How about...

WE ARE CARLTON

We do not need the rest, that is all is needed, in fact, Flower the rest. Solves both problems, great saying, some get the real meaning, those that don't have a great slogan regardless.

The AFL is too sanitised I would think, to allow FLOWER THE REST to pass through.

Despite having Hungry Jack's as their official health food.

I'd like to see more of an effort to turn Sydney supporters into members, and stop treating us like neglected "special" cousins.

It seems to me that Sydney supporters are assumed the be able to travel to Melbourne for matches, whereas other cities (aside from Brisbane, perhaps) get an armchair ride.

Build it and they will come, guys!

Sydney is being left to Collingwood and Essendon*! Now that Essendon* is truly pathetic, we've got an in to the market up here, and with the Swans on the decline, the timing could barely be better.

Unoriginal. Geelong and Joel Corey have claimed that title since last years GF.

Also, their club song says enough.

Noticed in today's "Domain" in "The Age":

"Carlton Football Club, Vic Urban & Orbit homes have joined forces in supporting the building a house at Aurora in Epping North that will be auctioned today to raise money for the Northern Hospital"

Well done :!:

"Good old Carlton, the greatest team of all, see the Blues fly up, oh we're from Carltonland..."

Catchphrases are for Telcos and car companies that provide shithouse goods and services and need to mask the fact with guff.

How about we just win a @#$%&! flag and @#$%&! the rest that way...
