We're not out of this yet, but we're going to need a solid 3rd quarter, and our traditional "come from behind" last quarter.

Sheesh.

As long as they fight out the second half, then I'll be happy.

If they lay down and let the Hawks do a Roos to us, I'll be pissed off.

Of couse, I'd prefer a win.

However if that's not possible, I wonder if a thumping might be better for us than a close loss?

A bit of a reality check, so we don't get too far ahead of ourselves.

Something to burn all summer, and put some fire in the belly for pre-season training.

just hope we can hold them. it would be a pity to get blown away in the last game. but the way the hawks are going, they will challenge the cats.

You underestimate the power of hope and self belief. Nothing good comes from getting thrashed in round 22.

Agree, we need to win the second half as something to hang our hat on over the summer.

Its a nothing game for us other than getting Fev to 100 Goals

It is an indication of how we go against the Hawks after the Buddy ton we prob are a little unsettled

End of the day Hawks are 2 years advanced to where the Blues are in 2006 Hawks ended the season on 9 wins / Blues 2008 10 wins

Next year with more games and another full pre season Blues should get between 12-14 wins

Lets see how we go in the second half and also agreed we need to tag Hodge like we did Heath Shaw when we played the Pies.. Take him out of the game if its possible

Hmm, in a spot of bother now. :?

We've had a pretty solid year of improvement and shown a consistent ability to run out games. Let's hope that continues for our last half of footy for 2008.

Nothing to play for, really.
Fev won't get 100 so they are having trouble getting their heads together, IMO

I wonder if that's what Ratts used to fire up the boys before the game?

"Lets stop Franklin from kicking his 100th!"

"Lets get Fev his ton!"

I hope not. In this professional world of AFL I'd be very disappointed if that was a significant part of the pre game planning.

All it is doing is highlighting the deficiencies that we all know are still there.
To mention just a few..

No real tough, skillful, nasty buggers like Hawthorn have.
Poor skill levels.
Lack of accountability.
Poor defensive pressure.
Lack of shutdown players.
Lack of experience in the ruck.

No real surprises.

yeh, but remember we are about three years behind them and as i pointed out to BS, buddy and roiughhead went there in 2005 and the didn't make the finals till 2005. and hodge went there in 2002

It's hard when there's nothing to paly for. Nobody wants to do a cruciate in Rd 22 and miss all next year. At the same time, they have to make a contest of the 2nd half

Disagree.

It should be a show of how well we've developed since last year, and since the start of the year.

If we do nothing but try and get Fev his 100, then we'll be thrashed.

If we try and actually play the match, then we're a chance to win. Hopefully.

I think we will do better second half but can see the players loose some focus especially after buddy got his ton

Something to burn all summer, and put some fire in the belly for pre-season training.

What a ridiculous statement.
