That was a brilliant 1st quater and a great return game by Hoops. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Anyone that thinks we are better off without the likes of Stevens and Hoops in the team HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT FOOTY!!!

Just think how valuable Hoops would have been in the close loses to the Swans and Crows.

The Aged newspaper states that he returned for his first game after being in football purgatory. WTF.

He was injured you moron.

Injuries are a kind of football purgatory though DUC! :) I've had two weeks off with a knee injury leading into semi finals and I can relate to that comment! :)

This weekend proves my heart's good though - my Rugby semi went to extra time after our opponents scored with a minute to go in the game, and then the most amazing comeback live at the GABBA....

Like I called it last night - "Playing the role of Simon Wiggins this week - Ryan Houlihan!!"

And how good are we going to be then when we have both Houla and Wiggo in the same team? :-D

Makes a huge difference having some genuine skilful users in the side.

He along with Eddie up forward will do some damage. Also prefer Waite up there as he is just as good on the ground as in the air.

McKinley's kicked 37 goals. Surprisingly good. Doubt he will be let go.

An article in my local paper says that McKinley wants to be a one team player and repay the faith that WCE showed in him, dont think he wants to leave.

All class. Didn't expect him to last the 4 Q's

Makes everything look easy. Has very good eye hand co ordination in the clinches

Smart

An assett in the forwardline.

Looking forward to any injury free 2009 and finals with Hopps in the team

And to think...he can only get better.

One of our best finishers....easily....

Exciting to see how he will go next year across half forward...

Almost the forgotten man.....I think he will be reinvigorated back as a forward...

..with an injury free season, played as a HFF i reckon he's good for two goals a game, plus a couple of assists.. ..and he has years of experience hitting up the Fev as well.. ..they work well together.. ..and he also helps keep Eddie by Fev's feet..

Well done Ryan

Obviously he will never win over everybody no matter what he does but like Frank looking forward to see his class and finish in the new blues next year.

For those regurgitating the soft tag would be interested to hear your thoughts on Craig Bradley's place in Carlton history.

As well as his skills hitting Fev, or other forwards, Houla could also fill in playing the crumber role we've been lacking, along with Eddie.

I can see them both in the same team quite easily, performing different but similar roles.

Exciting times ahead!

I know that when he has the headset on in the commentary box he looks like Robocop without his mask.

Yes if it was up to some people we would have a team full of Hulme's, Bentick's, McCormick's and Plunkett's. Guys whoare hard at it but no skill.

You need a mix of inside and outside players. Houla will be very very valuable next year as a forward with Eddie Betts.
